The Saints play The Dexys politicised by The Clash
G.O.R.G.E.O.U.S is fronted by GOLDBLADE guitarist, ex NIGHTINGALE and sometimes UK SUB Peter Byrchmore together with KATLAMA frontwoman Karen Swift and Eamonn Duffy, bassist with legendary Brum Punk pioneers THE PREFECTS. You can correctly surmise it's a bit of a 'supergroup'. Originally known as BOX EM DOMIES, (one album -the Martin Stephenson produced 'We're Deeply Sorry' and one EP 'Pot Valiant' both through Trident International), they became G.O.R.G.E.O.U.S in 1998 when original singer Dave Myers relocated to Exeter. There's two albums - 2002's 'Cursed with Being Gorgeous' and 'The Salvation Army' which is out sometime 2008 after more problems and delays than the Guns n Roses album. Yeh, I know it's a gap, when you deal with GOLDBLADE's relentless schedule whaddya expect? We've also been on 'Blunt Trauma' a compilation on Revolver Records in the company of UK Subs, Vibrators, Jayne County, Misfits etc and on Punkshit Records '25 Years Of Brum Punk Vol1' aongside GBH, Drongos, Dead Wretched, Intention, Dogshit Sandwich and many more rogues.
Most people see the fuck-off horn section and think they're in for ska-punk action. Wrong. G.O.R.G.E.O.U.S come over like The Saints playing the Dexy's as politicised by The Clash. It's a big, brutal, ranting noise. Hear for yourself.......
All excited here in Plymuff Five-Oh for yer long overdue return in Sept! Yer gap betwixt albums ain't too bad - you're more prolific than us bedwetter Loonies! (2nd album out Sept-ish, after a 9 year breather) All the bestest, you G.O.R.G.E.O.U.S. bunch! chris de wheelie =:0)
Some Else's Fault, well I blame Glen Miller! Good to hear the brass section once again to the fore, acerbic lyrics and the melodic guitar of Mr B adding the icing to the cake. As for Glen, well if he was here, now, well let's be fair the brass refrain is the modern day version of the Song of the Volga Boatman!
