Grandmaster Flash, Sugarhill Gang, early Michael Jackson, Japan, The Brecker Brothers, Herbie Hancock, Tears for fears, Kraftwerk, The Blue Nile, Chromeo, Zapp & Roger.
Two young upstanding gentlemen who have over the years become obsessed with the decade of the eighties. Hugo`s parents brought him up with the continous sounds of 'Japan` and 'Kraftwerk' whilst charlies parents comfortably forced the sound of 80`s experimental compositions including the early works of 'Karlheinz stockhausen` and 'Laurie Anderson`.
Together, this duo have created a nostalgic gift for all who have wept over the likes of tears for fears and spandau ballet. They would eventually like to re-create the new romantic period.
Combined with modern day influences such as The Postal service. Joan of Arc, The Blue Nile and New Order, Heartbreak high have undoubtedly changed the lives of atleast 6 people in the world. Please be a part of this sentimental movement.
with love Hugo and Charles (The Heartbreak High boys)
CREVECOEUR (france) with live projections on 8mm film.....their sound has been said to sound like the backdrop for a Quentin Tarantino, Robert Rodriguez, Serge Leone or David Lynch film and the whole visual aspect takes their live show to a whole other level. A treat methinks.

We're playing twice this weekend (a bit naughty really). Please come down to one of our gigs, we'd really appreciate it. Our first is Friday at Bar Fusion supporting the legendary Talibam (if you went to the Barr gig, it's Kevin from Barr). On Saturday we're playing at the Duke, we're we play our best gigs, so go to that too!
BARR is the project of LA / NYC's wandering pop-dynamo Brendan Fowler, in which he half-sings over half-tunes, creating a set of confessional songs that challenge the listener's preconceptions of truly innovative music.
Holding articulate dialogues that fall between lyrics and spoken word, Brendan's words are backed by deceptively simple, yet emotionally disarming melodies, formed from a sparse arrangement of bass, drums, piano and sometimes xylophone. This minimal aesthetic is the perfect platform for candid and exploratory songs about love, absence, realisation and experience.
