It was the year 2000, we were 14 years old, we neither played nor possessed musical instruments, yet we already had the title for our greatest hits album. So we began spending every Saturday writing our first four albums, how hard could it be?!
Chopsticks with cotton wool attached to one end would hit bongos, the ‘fingered bass’ setting on a £5 Casio keyboard would provide the low end, and there was even a kazoo solo. It was possibly the sweetest music ever made. We knew what we wanted, It was all mapped out; the plan was foolproof.
…
Ok, ok, it was harder than was first thought, but now, 9 years on, having undergone a few major tweaks here and there, the plan still stands. In recent times, we have toured the UK supporting the likes of One Night Only, Cage The Elephant and Toploader, launched our own club night in Brighton ('The Trigger Club'), as well as toured France and recently Japan, where we have released two singles and a mini-album. “Power Cuts”, our debut limited single in the UK, was released in November ’08 as a special battery-shaped USB stick and got reviews in Clash and NME, as well as attention from Radio 1, Radio 2, 6 Music and XFM.
We have recorded our debut album 'Keys to the City', with producer Youth (The Verve, Paul McCartney) and plan to let it loose into the world on October 19th. The first single 'Connection' will be available as a free download from our myspace http://www.myspace.com/weareholdfire on 28th September.

hey guys, sorry i havent been in touch! i've not been on myspace in centuries! your new stuff is sounding brilliant though. i'm going to download your album on monday when funds are reimbursed and the next time you's are in scotland i'll come watch you's play, it's been ages. much love, Holly :) x
Hi and thank you for your request. To me your singer sounded like the singer of the Strokes, but that just came to my mind while listening to the first lines of connection. I wrote it, you read it, now please forget it. Your songs sound quite good. Not like the Strokes at all.^^
But aren't travelodges so confusinggg!! Cos the rooms are EXACTLY the same. Wen i was on holiday i thought i was in Liverpool...I was in Leeds. Confusing shizzle!
hey there. yeah it was really good :) shame you didn't play for longer - we thought that you were better than absent elk! did you have fun? manage to get the screaming girls away!? x
Awww really? did you all have a good night then? Haha! thanks :P Yeah hopefully your back in Liverpool soon, or even Manchester so i can see you all again, and this time i will be able to sing along better as ive got the album now lol. xxx
