About
LUX was formed in a tiny furnace room located in the basement of a central Ohio house. The first two members, also brothers, were Jesse and Alex Johnson. Later, two close friends named Jarred Lawson and Cameron Rochte, were added to the band. Each new member brought with them their own unique styles and tastes. Once the final band lineup was determined, songs started to be created almost immediately. LUX quickly started getting shows at local venues, and won a local battle of the bands. With the win came $500 and 20 hours of free recording in a studio. This is how LUX financed their debut EP, Art of Independence. Once the EP was released on Myspace and iTunes, it quickly sparked the attention of local radio stations. LUX has had significant airplay on college radios around Columbus, including Otterbein University's own, WOBN 97.5 FM. Following the release of the Art Of Independence EP, The band quickly decided to get back to the studio, with strong intentions to solidify and better their sound. The two singles released were entitled "Searching", and "Late Night". These two songs have helped LUX expand their fan base, and helped them gain regional attention. Now more capable than ever, LUX is taking their sound and energy on the road. They plan to go to new places, where they hope to instill a passion in others with their positive message, through their own unique twist on alternative music.
