Nothing you've heard before. Or a mix of their influences. See above...
Madrugada take their influences from bands like Suicide, Velvet Underground, Nick Cave, Leonard Cohen, Joy Division, etc. Less angular rock, more dark, atmospheric epics, The Deep End was recorded at the fantastic Sound City in LA with legendary producer George Drakoulias at the helm followed quickly by Live At Tralfamadore released a mere 12 days after being recorded at the Spektrum Oslo on 2nd December. A hugely successful year for Madrugada commanding the two biggest selling albums in Norway for 2005.
Sivert Hoyems excellent, moody rock croon drives Grit ensuring this bittersweet soundtrack to the early hours is no false dawn. *** X-Ray
a thrilling, compelling rock band. Munch on this. **** Uncut
Madrugada arrive in a thrilling squall of garage rock... pitched halfway between Iggy Pop and Nick Cave. **** Q Magazine
"A class act their hi-tech, slick but spirited form of cool-ass rock has a distinctively NYC-basement edge." *** MOJO
your live in athens(24/5) was absolutely magnificent!! you were great!! thnx a lot for your amazing performance and your beautiful music...
i must also mention, that i'm the happiest girl in the whole world, now that i met you (in the fnac stores), as it was one of my dreams!!
..and i will never forget your pre-live party, 'cause... i think it's more than great to drink a beer next to one of your favorite bands, without bodyguards and stuff like that, but as friends..thnx a lot for the humility...
