“Go and see them. They sound like Sonic Youth”. Incorrect, but someone from a very “trendy” online magazine actually wrote it and if you are going to start a band bio off with a quote why not that one hey? They also wrote something about all four members being extremely attractive, but we thought a hint of modesty wouldn’t go astray.
So let’s try and get started with the truth:
Minutes is four musicians from very different musical backgrounds sharing their respective influences and experience while tipping a hat in the direction of our Australian rock and roll forefathers as well as heroes from American post punk band of the past 2 decades. We really like sonic youth we just don’t sound like them!
Now let’s get back to the first paragraph or the ‘lies’. Maybe a few people read that magazine before they had actually listened to us as we have had some pretty amazing opportunities over the last few months. We have shared bills with some of the countries most respected and exciting rock acts such as Further, Blacklevel Embassy and Arrows. We also helped see off the wonderful Young and Restless at their last ever show and supported Japan’s ‘Melt Banana’ in October as part of the Melbourne International Arts Festival.
We are recording our debut release at the moment. Stay tuned.
