Museums is a 6 piece indie rock band that blossomed out of Rochester, N.Y. in August of 2007. The original lineup consisted of Travis Rankin (Vocals), Ben D’Angelo (Lead Guitar), Vincent Roselli (Bass), Tony Grasta (Drums), Thom Bullman (Keys/Synth) and Joey Arena (Rhythm Guitar). Soon after, Joey mutually agreed to part ways with the band to pursue other interests (see Boy And His Machine / Young Bloods) . At that time, friend Christian Mear, stepped in to fill the slot. In the Spring of ‘08 they released their first EP, entitled “Can We Meet in the Middle,” recorded by Rob Freeman (Armor For Sleep, Hit the Lights, Cobra Starship) @ Pilot Studio in Boonton, N.J. Shortly after recording, the boys began gearing up for tour in support of the EP, but were sadly forced to replace singer and longtime friend Travis, along with their drummer Tony. Vincent's long time friend, Zachary Tyler (Renouf, We Are The Detached, The Navigator), managed to take over vocal duties, while they found a new drummer in Devan Bentley. Over that summer they headed back into the studio with the newest members to record a cover of The Movielife's, “If Only Ductape Could Fix Everything,” which can be found at myspace.com/littleheartrecords. After touring the rest of the summer and some of the fall of ‘08, they decided to take a short break and unwind back in their home of Rochester. In the late winter they began demo-ing out 7 new tracks at their home studio, but eventually the remaining members decided, as friends, to part ways in pursuit of other musical endeavors and oppurtunities. Officially, Museums will be playing their farewell show on August 14th, 2009 in their hometown. All of the tracks they have been recording will be released and given out for free, including 7 remixes and 1 cover.
