What got you started in music? Well... My dad's a guitar god, my brother is a bass machine, and I wanted to join the party! My whole family has been musical way before I ever came to exist. There's always music playing in our house, and even through the TV commercials my dad has an acoustic guitar at his side ready to noodle. I've been singing along through it all. Though since I was surrounded by such amazing musicians and vocalists ( Uncle Ron, Cousin Meg and all the Opera Authorities from the older generation) I was VERY intimidated and didn't think much of my singing ventures. I've always wanted to be a part of it all, but didn't quite know how. At around 17 or so I was singing along to the blues during a car ride with my mom when she simply said "you can do this." Within the next few weeks my Dad had me out to sing some SRV with his band and I've been at it ever since! Singing is my therapy, and the best way I can find express my true emotions, without it I think I may have combusted long ago...

My mother said no, so I decided to play the sax because of the talking owl I saw on Sesame Street playing it. He said I would have to put down the duckie if I wanted to play the saxophone. I sucked until I was about 19, along the way I picked up some other instruments.
How did you come to join Phat Cats? I was at the Halloween party of my ex bassist’s girlfriend. During this I encountered Michelle singing son of a preacher man, which was weird because my drummer and I had been discussing how we needed a vocalist if we wanted to cover that tune. During a brief stay in my band Jason came to one of my practices and we jammed for a while, the rest is history.
