Sounds Like
We Are Power.
'We Are Power eat bricks and crap thunder' - News of the World
'I've got a fever, and the only prescription is more cowbell' - Radio Times
'The only band ever to split the atom' - New Scientist
"W.A.P. seem to have the best hooks since that bit in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The infectious call and response vocals that rip into the riffs in 'Fire Takes No Holiday' don't seem to be able to sit still for a minute, with the odd blood-curdling scream thrown in for good measure.
But for all the intensity, W.A.P. know how to write a pop song - maybe the best comparison would be to imagine The Sonics amped up to 11, having a drunken tussle with AC/DC, while Nirvana join in on the choruses.
This is a good thing.
They Are Power." - Remotegoat.co.uk (five goats)
"Full on noisy punkish row of a sound full of fast thrashy riffs and shouty cracked voice singing. Take Nirvana as their template and turn it into something really British sounding...mean and menacing and good for it" - Bugbear Promotions, London
To download a free PDF copy from Rapidshare either follow this link or click on the image below . . .
This is quite a large file (the PDF is print quality, so if you wanted to print out a copy rather than stare at a computer screen you can. The 'zine will print at 300dpi and pages are sized at A5) so it may take a few minutes to download.
We are already working on the next issue (due out in January) and are always looking for contributors. If you would like to contribute to TBB or think that there is something we should know about please get in touch with us either here or, better still, visit our forum, sign up and get involved there. TBB is not just about music, we want to hear about anything underground, alternative or left of center.
So SCUL HAZZARDs are about to return to Australia. Here’s our last few London shows. We’ll have discount merch at the shows to avoid excess baggage charges when we head back! And we should have copies of our split with BLACK LISTERS from Leeds, out on BRITISH WILDLIFE. Three songs of each band and a cover of BIG BLACK by SHs and a RAPEMAN cover by BLs.
Friday Nov 20 – The Unicorn, NW1 9AA
w/ Invasion / Roll Call for the Second Site / Astro Henge
Wednesday Nov 25 – Hired Geeks at Catch, Kingsland Rd Shoreditch
w/ Drum Eyes (Leeds)
Friday Nov 28 – Silver Rocket at Jamboree, EW1 3HB
We are finally getting the first issue of our 'zine sorted and have setup a forum to go with it's impending release in December.
Both the 'zine and the forum are for more than just music (although that is a big part of what we're about), we will be covering art, film, books, in fact pretty much anything and everything that is underground or alternative.
Have a look at the forum, sign up, start promoting your projects, band, writing, etc and join in the discussions.
We are proud to announce that BLACK ARROWS, Southend's TRUEST metal night, will gloriously return to Southend on Saturday 24th October at the Railway Hotel - our finest venue yet!
