Syaz speaks, sings and strums to drive us forth.. Kim tweaks knobs and adds hints of geetar butchering to our sound.. Khai gorengs nifty basslines with an unmistakable groove.. Arief thumps and splashes to keep us alive.. Shirin tickles ivory (or plastic), adds the feminine touch to songs and completes the band.

風格近似
A quintet- each playing a part in unison; for the love of music and as a form of self-expression. Our music is subtly inspired by our heroes such as Radiohead, Furniture, Ecrus Garage, Mansun, Wings, Iklim, P. Ramlee.. just to name a few.
Sleeve is a quintet producing songs that, according to listeners, are deeply melancholic and emotional. Our members have varying influences ranging from the music of Radiohead, to old school Malay rock. On the whole, the different playing styles of each member complement each other to personify a sound that is essentially unique to Sleeve’s identity. Sleeve draws inspiration from true life experiences and emotions, making it easy for listeners to relate.
Originally started by Syaz on vocals/guitar and Paul on drums, the duo called themselves "Sleeves" to signify each being either on the left or on the right sleeve. Khai was roped in soon after. Kim officially joined the band rather abruptly in late July '05. Keyboardist Charmaine sessioned for our first gig (23rd July '05) where we named ourselves simply as "Sleeve". Shirin completed the band as a permanent Keyboardist in November.. In January, barely a week after the band's performance at Stasis 8, Paul passed away in his sleep much to the shock of everyone. The band went on a hiatus for several months until a mutual friend, Arief, agreed to join as drummer to enable Sleeve to carry on..
We have just released a self-produced CD which is now available. It consists of our single "Bound" and various live and acoustic tracks. Feel free to email us at sleevers@gmail.com if you'd like to purchase a copy. Thanks!
