The band was formed in January 2008 by lead/rhythm guitarist and vocalist Adam Goss and guitarist-turned-bass guitarist Mike Huggins shortly after they performed together for a talent show at their school. They were also joined by guitarist Liam Arnold who, alongside Adam and Mike shaped the original line-up of the band. They were briefly joined by school friends Cameron Abercrombie on guitars and Krista Brown on drums. Since then, the band has undergone many changes to it's members, starting with the exit of Cameron and Liam. The pair was replaced swiftly by Jamie Ward as rhythm guitarist and Andre Simmonds joined as the group's drummer after Krista's departure. After a brief stint and minor disagreements, Andre left the band, leaving them without a drummer for some months. The remaining members Adam, Jamie and Mike began serious work on songwriting and compostion during their time as a power trio. After months of practice, the band re-recriuted former guitarist Liam Arnold as well as discovering the talented Aimee Barlow who is now the group's drummer.
The band aims to patent a unique hybrid of genres which also incorporates the more traditional rock stylings. Their style can be described as an original blend of rock, metal and blues with aspects of country, jazz and epic ballads. It may prove difficult to compare their sound to many known groups, but their influences are drawn from artists such as Led Zeppelin, Iron Maiden, Van Halen, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Whitesnake, Brad Paisley, Paramore and Nickelback. At this stage, Sunset Strip are busy writing exciting and original material and are looking for any exposure available in order to aid their campaign of global stardom!
