Formed in late 2007, We Are The Afterglow emerged from the ashes of another Cardiff band. Andy K and Dan, having played together for a while, knew there was something to be explored, and with the help of their old drummer, started to turn Andy K's long back catalogue of acoustic songs into more complete, fuller music for everyone.
With the loss of one drummer, the band was put on hold indefinitely while they desperately searched out a suitable percussionist to aid them in realising what they knew would be great. A couple of months passed, with Andy and Dan trialling person after person, failing to find the missing ingredient. With desperation and failure looming over them, they finally received a call from Matt. They played a one hour jam with him and knew straight away that he was the missing part of the band. Having been playing constantly since then, the band have already produced enough material for a full album, and are beginning a gigging circuit to bring their music to the masses!
We Are The AfterGlow has always been about the music before any of the members of the band which is why we tend to loose members quicker than hawkwind...
This is one band to keep a weather eye on, they have the drive and determination to make it big. The tracks you hear on this site were produced entirely by the band, and we hope you enjoy them!
