The Music Or The Drugs Film Clip!!!
Cool shit important people say about the Black Arts....
The Black Arts really, they rock. They’re one of those bands where everything has fallen into place and now they simply need the recognition and the stardom to complete the picture. Their bop-worthy, balls-out rock goes down a treat with ‘War On Hurricanes’ proving a shout-along favourite and ‘Heart Rip Sleeve’ showing off the best guitar riff this side of ‘Satisfaction’.
- Time Off Magazine
These guys really know how to orchestrate a stunning fusion of pop, old school rock, reggae and a bit of funk.... lead singer Channel J took the audience on a journey with his endearing vocals, and really shone in crowd favourite, War on Hurricanes. The Black Arts simply know how to have infectious, silly fun onstage.
- Faster Louder.com
"...sounds like those first glorious moments of hearing pre-‘Satisfaction’ Stones records."
- Ben Preece, Time Off Magazine
"Combine grainy drunken vocals with some tinkling piano loops, bashed out acoustic strings, boozy harmonies, frenetic riffage and a spattering of slide guitar, and you have a sound that everyone can love. Personally, I'd need masking tape and a staple gun to stop myself singing along to these little numbers."
- The Sandwich Club, www.sandwichclub.fm
"In the space of 24 minutes, this five-piece fit in a whole LP's worth of rock n roll"
- Time Off Magazine EP Review
"Kudos to The Black Arts boys for a top show. Time Off wishes you all the best for what’s sure to be a celebrated career."
- Justin Grey, Time Off Magazine EP Launch Review
"The Black Arts kicked my ass. Not in the they-took-me-out-back-and-beat-me-up-for-my-lunch-money way, but more in the they-fuckin'-rocked-the-house way. They ploughed down the crowd with their fun and infectious sound and their hilarious stage banter."
- Chart Attack magazine, Canada
"Their gritty cover of Johnny Cash’s ‘Folsom Prison Blues’ is a treat, as is their own devilishly good ‘The Music Or The Drugs’.
- Time Off Magazine
"The Black Arts ebulliently performed, catchy indie-pop-blues grooves hit the spot."
- Brett Collingwood, Rave Magazine

Wicked vocal harmonies and top of your
lungs screaming with a Dead Kennedys meets
The Beatles attitude. An infectious pop sensibility
litters every cancerous track of rock'n'roll destruction.
what is the black arts? A concern, a promise,
a lie, a joke, a silence, a wreckage, a love, a
band, the black arts is our wealth.
the black arts like to gamble, drink, photograph,
watch, read, smoke. (repeat)
