About the usa

THE USA is the new band of John Wayne Shot Me's Marieke and Thijs van den Broek. When the siblings were asked to write songs for the soundtrack for a comic about a mysterious hot air balloon journey they simply couldn't refuse. With their friendly robot Emilio and drummer Alicia (of the Cuties) they locked themselves up in an abandoned agricultural bank building in their hometown Ammerzoden and soon they came out with a dozen songs. These songs were put on tape by The Robocop Kraus-producer Wuschi Ebert and Marieke, Thijs, Alicia and Emilio hit the road to play all over Europe.

Expect commodore 64 sounds, boy/girl vocals, wrenching guitars, a singing robot, antique casios and sing-a-long indie popsongs that'll make you smile.

St. Polaroid	Jun 10 2009 8:13 PM Met je hoofd op een cd-hoes van GPZH winnaar St. Polaroid Singer/songwriter St. Polaroid heeft dit jaar met de Grote prijs van Zuid-Holland de 1e prijs en de publieksprijs in de wacht gesleept. Dit heeft hem zo blij gemaakt dat hij spontaan een aantal nieuwe liedjes heeft geschreven. Komende maanden duikt hij de studio in om een nieuwe EP op te nemen. Deze luistert naar de titel: “Most people are other people”. Uiteraard wordt er inmiddels alweer zorgvuldig aandacht besteed aan het artwork. En hierbij is jouw hulp is hard nodig! Heb jij altijd al een keer met je hoofd op een cd-hoes willen staan? Zodat je thuis kan zeggen; hé! kijk eens wat leuk.
