THE WRECKAGE:
The Wreckage was formed in late 2007 with the goal of bringing something unique to the alternative rock scene. Wanting to develop their own style with in the genre, The Wreckage combined strong songwriting with a blend of strong vocals, driving guitars, melodic bass lines, and powerful drumming to achieve just that. Although each member came from different musical backgrounds, with different influences, they found common ground very easily and developed their own diverse sound.
The band spent the summer of 2007 writing and rehearsing material and entered the studio that October to record their debut demo that was released in November 2007. Right away the band knew they had something special. The album has achieved air play on various radio stations since its release and in July of 2008, The Wreckage was featured in an hour long interview on Chicago’s Fearless Internet Radio which broadcasts all over the world. The band was interviewed and performed a few unreleased acoustic songs.
Since the release of their self-titled album, The Wreckage has been playing shows throughout the Chicago land area and beyond and has been gaining a solid fan base. Their slogan, “…We Are The Wreckage” sums up the band: everyone can connect and relate to the music. The band has plans to tour and plans to release their follow up release for early 2009. With their unique sound, intense and dynamic live performances, The Wreckage is a band to keep an eye on.
