The sound my head makes at night & right after I wake up.
The lights behind closed eyes.
Various levels of intoxicated mumblings and stumblings.
Snow/rain/darkness/sunshine falling.
Living life like I won't look back, knowing all the while I do it all the time.
Vinyl pops. Memories. Possibilities. Tragedies & love.
The Neighbors are all about creating a communal experience. “We just want to have a good time,” say bassist/back up vocalist Alex Rossiter. “If we show ‘em we’re having the time of our lives on stage, the audience can’t but help to do the same.”
Although The Neighbors formed in the Summer of 2009, its members are no strangers to one another or their local music scene. Drummer/back up vocalist Dave Crepeault and Rossiter met in elementary school as friends and soon started playing music together. The two were an inseparable rhythm section, taking notes from such artists as Dream Theater and Primus. It wasn't until a mutual high school friend of theirs introduced them to the local singer/songwriter, Tom Cadrin, that everything started to fall into place. Cadrin had only recently begun playing acoustic guitar, mimicking the likes of Elliot Smith and Chris Carrabba. A born guitar player, Cadrin quickly made the transition to the electric guitar, resulting in a change of musical direction. After a few casual practices and semi-rigorous recording sessions, the three formed a unique musical bond that was recognized by many in the local music scene.
Previous inceptions of The Neighbors have performed their unique blend of pop, rock, and punk along side an innumerable amount of local acts, as well as many national acts such as Four Year Strong, This Providence, Forgive Durden, Houston Calls, and Self Against City. Between 2003 and 2006, the trio played extensively throughout the New England music scene: in bars, clubs, auditoriums, high school gymnasiums and even parking lots. Unfortunately, at the height of their productivity, distance pulled the trio apart due to college.
Taking from their music educations what they could (production, business, lyrical and musical composition, et al), the three friends continued to write, record and perform music separately. As the trio honed their skills both on their instruments and in the music industry, they kept tabs on one another and returned matured, intelligent and determined. In the spring of 2009, when Cadrin moved into Boston, MA with Rossiter, The Neighbors were born.
Since its conception, The Neighbors has been incessantly working and performing from the top of New England to the depths of New York City, all the while writing new material, they don’t stop. The Neighbors' sound lies somewhere within and between the introspection of Bright Eyes, the manic changes in time and feel of Say Anything, and the sophisticated chaos of The Mars Volta. The end result is an undeniably catchy, funk-rock sound that makes The Neighbors stand out in the New England music scene.
"You want a party?!" asks Cadrin, "We'll bring it to you - we'll bring it hard."
Please, enjoi responsibly.

"SEMBLANCE demonstrates Cadrin’s abilities to compose cohesive, catchy songs that hit on more than the Eros-and-Aphrodite-inspired topics for which his crystal-clear crooning seems so perfectly suited" - Seven Days, Burlington
