I thank you for taking the time to view my profile. It is election time once again and I am looking forward to continuing my service as chief prosecutor for the citizens of Anne Arundel County. I remain dedicated to developing innovative programs meant to enhance the quality of life for all citizens who require legal services from my office. I employ the best and brightest to my team who work hard for me in keeping our communities safe.
I ask you to join me in maintaining the integrity of this office. I ask you to help me ensure that the office of the States Attorney in Anne Arundel County stays a constant source of honor, integrity, and pride in our legal community. I take my commitment as prosecutor very seriously. Prosecution is my passion. It has been part of my life since I was sworn in as an attorney. I have dedicated myself fully to protecting our communities, and with your vote, I will continue to make certain that justice is served.
Frank Weathersbee has served Anne Arundel County as a prosecutor for over 30 years. Starting as an Assistant State's Attorney in 1969, he was entrusted as a Deputy State's Attorney in 1977 and then appointed State's Attorney in 1988. THE CITIZENS OF ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY HAVE RE-ELECTED HIM THREE TIMES. Frank is committed to protecting the people of this county.
Frank Weathersbee, a life long Maryland resident, has made Anne Arundel County his home for over 30 years. He has always had a personal commitment to this community and its quality of life. He raised his family here and has been active with various civic organizations throughout the years, including the Jaycees and the Parole Rotary.
State's Attorney Frank Weathersbee is a skilled and experienced litigator who has tried thousands of cases - from traffic violations to complex murder trials, including death penalty cases. He encourages his staff to employ the latest in scientific and technological advances in the courtroom. His office maintains some of the most advanced programs in criminal justice including: a victim-witness unit, mediation program, community justice program, handgun offense prosecution team, bad check division and other innovative projects.
Mr. Weathersbee is dedicated to criminal justice and victims services and strives to find ways to improve the system. He has served as the President of the Maryland State's Attorney's Association and continues to serve on the organization's legislative committee. He serves on the Maryland Commission on Juvenile Justice Jurisdiction and the State Task Force to Implement the Victims' Rights Amendment and he served on the Maryland Commission for the Future of the Courts. On a national level, Mr. Weathersbee is active with the National District Attorneys Association, having been elected to that organization's Board of Directors in July, 2000, and co-chairing its Capitol City Prosecutor's subcommittee.
Mr. Weathersbee is well known for his efforts concerning victims' rights. He has written legislation and coordinated efforts to strengthen the rights of victims. He has been honored by the Maryland Network Against Domestic Violence and the local YMCA. Mr. Weathersbee serves as the President of the County's Domestic Violence Coordinating Council and is proud to be a charter member of the Maryland State Board of Victim Services. In 2001, he received the State Board of Victims Service's top honor - The Ginny Mahoney Memorial Award - for his efforts on behalf of victims' rights.
