The Witches' Education Bureau was founded in Salem, Massachusetts in 1993 in an attempt to help educate both the general public and the Pagan community about the diversity of thought amongst Pagans, and to dispel the myths regarding the religion of Witchcraft.
Our membership is, as it always has been, composed of dedicated volunteers who give of their time and efforts for the community. These volunteers reflect the vast diversity of traditions and paths that can be found within covens or among solitary practitioners today.
W.E.B. has spent the past fifteen years being a visible presence in the Salem Community, particularly during the annual Salem Heritage Days Parade (now defunct) and Haunted Happenings. During haunted Happening we offer an opportunity for young people of all ages to "Make a Wand" while Mom and Dad have an opportunity to learn more about the religion of Witchcraft through our "Ask a Witch" program. All profits generated from the wands are donated to local charities, as is ALL profits generated from our yearly and terrifically sumptuous Samhain Feast.
W.E.B. has maintained a strictly neutral stance in the often tumultuous world of "Pagan Politics" of Salem, and ask that all respect this policy.
Who I'd like to meet: Pagans, Witches, Wiccans, Druids, Norse traditionalists, etc. and anyone willing and able to lend a hand. We also welcome witches and pagans from far and near to participate in our Annual Samhain Feast, or any of our other upcoming events.
