1968 - 72: INTERNATIONAL HOTEL BUSINESS

1970 - 72
***** COTTON BAY CLUB - ELEUTHERA/BAHAMAS
ASSISTANT MANAGER & CHEF DE RECEPTION
WEBSITE
Guests and/or members were British royalties as well as the high society of the USA:
Governors, congressmen, senators, Admiral Nimitz, Mrs. Johnson (Johnson & Johnson), a former head of the C.I.A., Mr. McNeill (Libby's Factories), Robert Trent Jones (world famous golf course designer), Davis Love II (his son Davis Love III is one of the best golf pros today) and many others!>
Founder and president of the club was Juan Trippe (founder of Pan American Airways ---> movie 'Aviator'), besides president of Intercontinental Hotels too!
Although I was working up to 18 hours per day, I had the feeling to be in paradise. Above all I did not miss deep sea & shark fishing, cata- maran sailing, reef diving, surfing or 'tough' (cement courts) tennis matches with club members!
1970
***** MONTREUX PALACE - MONTREUX/SWITZERLAND
RECEPTIONIST & RESTAURANT CASHIER
WEBSITE
Originally I wanted to go to South Africa, but a friend warned me who was already there. So I decided to distress Switzerland. At the Casino Montreux I watched a phantastic concert of Jethro Tull!
1969
**** HOTEL KUMMER - VIENNA/AUSTRIA
BARKEEPER & RECEPTIONIST
WEBSITE
After my return from England I wanted to stay in hotel business. As my mother knew the general manager of a hotel chain very well, it was no problem to get a job! In the three months as a barkeeper I was not a single day sober :)
1968
*** BROMLEY COURT HOTEL - LONDON/ENGLAND
PORTER & DISHWASHER

WEBSITE
It was my mother who forced me to leave Austria. Even today I am grateful for the unique opportunity to spend this famous year in England and to experience a great club gig of Ike & Tina Turner! I also was a regular guest of the country pub of the year where every evening bands performed. I especially liked their own sound of the electric "fiddles".
