   About We Came in Peace

We Came in Peace are two super intelligent beings just appeared, go figure why, from a Universe requiring 11 Space & Time dimensions to make some sort of sense. And go figure why they look like average ducks in our perfectly standard 3 dimensions world.

Furthermore, go figure why they are doing electronic, ambient music tainted with a tiny bit of savage guitar riffs. But there are things in life, like Swiss Watches, American Movies or Italian Pizzas you just wish to go about taking pleasure in without so much digging into the details of their inner workings.

But, hey, we are in no mood to let you paddle in the hazy blazes of the unknown, so we are going to explain it all, period. So please enjoy some of We Came in Peace tracks on a good set of ear buds or speakers (we tend to recommend www.shure.com for headsets and www.meyersound.com for loudspeakers) while we develop our story below.

Oh, and please note that We Came in Peace’s work is copyrighted and is made available for download for non-commercial use only. Of course, should you be interested in using their music for business related undertakings they would be delighted to help, and they would be delighted to do so at very good rates.

Ok, so one of them birds is named Calabi Yau, while the other calls himself Kaluza Klein. In their universe, their birth names in fact are « peiurvhrpifu2hfpr32iuf2c2p646464646cd99 » and « kcjbedpcwecbp2icub2picip2rcip2cr90980890 », but in a friendly attempt not to bother too much the NSA, the WWW Consortium, the IFPI as well as some of the key account managers of American Express, they thought that choosing names a tad more average joe would be appropriate and would even prove useful for fitting into standardized online forms, as much as this can possibly be.

These names were freely inspired by a Wikipedia entry about Superstring Theory, visited from a tiny web café in Geneva, Switzerland, nearby the CERN and its Large Hadron Particle Collider accelerator. By the way, this last piece of information alone might in fact offer a reasonable lead as to why at all these two super intelligent beings / average ducks appeared …

Now, for those who might question the move, yes it does make some sort of sense to visit a Wikipedia entry about Superstring theory. This particularly when you spontaneously appear in a tiny 3 dimensional world right after leaving a very neat and comfortable 11 dimensions universe that you call home. The first thing you are very tempted to do when first appearing, is to find a decent explanation about the vanishing of your beloved 8 missing dimensions so as to adjust vital functions such as breathing, gossiping and lunching to behave as accordingly as possible into the messy mish mash of the place. This first so you can fully enjoy sharing and learning social skills and behavior with local species, strangely enough mostly organized around large meals and strong drinks. As a valid proof of the vastly adaptable nature of Kaluza & Calabi, the second web site they ever consulted was www.restaurants.com

That said, looking like average ducks does not guarantee for pleasant and peaceful moments of delicate fusion cuisine tasting at el Bulli, where it may even prove to become rather hazardous, while merely queuing at MacDonalds on Fridays, past the pleasing feeling of not being looked at as if you were a greenie of some sort (red : which technically you are, btw), can be become rather tiring, particularly if you intend to order anything else than Filet O Fish®.

But hey, as this guy Darwin may have said: start liking or start packing. So while we only have little clue as to why two rich, beautiful, super intelligent beings from one universe ended up looking like average ducks in another, it made some sort of sense for them to join in the show business tribe, as really no one on this planet will ever be even slightly surprised at seeing penguin looking extra terrestrial beings undertaking a career in electronic music entertainment, and that certainly not after a few seasons of Pop Idol© airplay have passed.

Besides, if you spent most of your scholarship, even lighting fast, in an 11 dimensions universe, you do have a thing or two to say about how a very basic 3 dimensional world plus that thing called time behave, mind you, if only for pointing at the fact that technically it is very near to being absolutely gobbledygook.

Strangely enough, for very unforeseeable reasons it has proved to be a lot easier to convey such concepts musically, at least particularly when you look like ducks. In fact, while you can very well sing it straight to humans on Saturday evenings on large nationwide network programs, it seems a tad more difficult to voice the exact same topics of worldwide concerns in front of a specialized audience of well educated physicists. This even when backed-up by a cinema quality presentation with dazzling text effects and particularly when what you have to say to your egghead crowd resides along the lines of:

“Guys, you have done a terrific job with the relativity and all, but since, as you may have noticed already, whatever you may think of spontaneously pops up right after you did, out of the first patch of void that’s been thrown some energy at, there will always be a jerk or two for thinking of new bits of something that were not here before, so you might as well go screw a kangaroo instead, thank you very much”.

And also, special thanks too, really, to the very one jerk who thought, even half mindedly, about two average ducks, we really do appreciate the experience to its full, albeit only 3 dimensional, extent.
