Every Wednesday night at 11pm, We Come From Garageland celebrates the latest from Australia's underground music scene.

Each week the hosts of We Come From Garageland share stories, opinions and reviews (ie: bullshit on too much) of the music, art and activism that is changing the way that people think, perform, interact, promote, protest and create, in Australia and abroad.

We Come From Garageland features live-to-air sets, recordings of local gigs and artist-released recordings, as well as interviews with bands and with mainstays of the local and international DIY scene. Recent guests include Ian MacKaye (Dischord/Minor Threat/Fugazi/The Evens), Bad Tables, Cabaret Callado, wOg and Brooke from The Ailing Festival, and there are many more to come!

Independent artists that wanna be featured on We Come From Garageland can send MP3s to wecomefromgarageland@2ser.com, or tapes, CDs and records to We Come From Garageland, PO Box 123, Broadway NSW AUSTRALIA 2007. For track listings, updates and MP3s, you can check myspace.com/wecomefromgarageland and wecomefromgarageland.blogspot.com.

If you've got a gig in the Sydney area, please let us know by the Tuesday before so that we can mention it, and can try to come along ourselves. The wonderful Tenzenmen actually sends out a weekly e-newsletter about the following weekend's gigs, so if you haven't signed up yet, or aren't sending in details about your gigs, head to the website and sign up now - it's awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!! tenzenmen.com/maillist/coolandunusual.shtml.

Also look out for the regular We Come From Garageland hard copy zine, with an overview of the past month in Sydney's live music scene including reviews, interviews, artwork, and a CDR featuring live recordings exclusive to We Come From Garageland.

For more information on We Come From Garageland, to speak to the presenters, request a zine, or to join the mailing list, please email wecomefromgarageland@2ser.com, or call +612 9514 9514.

And make sure that you tune in every Wednesday night - you can stream it live from anywhere in the world! 2ser.com

Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price is the documentary film sensation that's changing the largest company on earth. The film features the deeply personal stories and everyday lives of families and communities struggling to survive in a Wal-Mart world. It's an emotional journey that will challenge the way you think, feel... and shop.

Released simultaneously in theaters and DVD in November 2005, the film has been seen by millions worldwide. Families, churches, schools, and small busineses owners have screened the film over 10,000 times and the world is taking notice. See the film, share it, and become part of the movement forcing companies to act responsibly.

Iraq for Sale: The War Profiteers is the story of what happens to everyday Americans when corporations go to war.

Acclaimed director Robert Greenwald (Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price, Outfoxed, and Uncovered) takes you inside the lives of soldiers, truck drivers, widows and children who have been changed forever as a result of corporate greed in the reconstruction of Iraq. Iraq for Sale uncovers the connections between private security companies making a killing in Iraq and the decision makers who allow them to do so.
