WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY CONCERT 5TH JUNE 2007~LONDON's Blurbs
About me: London’s 2007 WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY CONCERT is being held on June 5th and
coordinated by
THE WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY TRUST
www.wed-trust.org
This is London’s first ever concert to mark the United Nations World Environment Day (June 5th). It is being held and supported by Koko with performances from the aptly named guillemots, afro-beat artist Bukky Leo, Pull Tiger tail, The Vibrants......Djs Sam Duckworth, The Black Rats.....appearances will made by amazingly successful tree planters, explorers and green fingered celebrities. Host is Scot comedian Phil Kay.
A fantastic array of prizes will be up for grabs at the concert including a once in a lifetime TRIP for 2 to South Africa with Save Cina's Tigers (wierd though it sounds - Tigers are being rewilded in South Africa due to the level of experience African game keepers have in this skill)
This will be the first of many events raising the profile of WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY in London - the day was crowned in 1972 by the UN and has since been a day to rasie support and awareness for the natural world and more often than not, the challenges it faces as a result of our unstable relationship with it. Concert proceeds will go to five charities: Save Chinas Tigers, London Wildlife Trust, Trees for Life, Population and Sustainability Network and The Wilderness Foundation UK.
Tickets £15 Doors 6.30-3

One of the highlights of the Vortex London Jazz Festival – TIME OUT
Featuring Fyfe Dangerfield (from Guillemots), Gannets posit an alternative jazz history in which 30's swing developed straight into a combined form of the free jazz and fusion movements, without any of the intervening decades.
Fyfe Dangerfield - keyboards + electronics Alex J Ward - clarinet Christopher Cundy - bass clarinet Dominic Lash - double bass Steve Noble - drums
