| About Wed |
Synths are cold and emotionless. Musicians playing them are as human as robots. WRONG. Since 1992, Wed takes the best of his inner feelings to make of each of his songs a concentrate of life and each sound a unique experience.
Fallen in electronic sauce since his childhood and driven by pop/rock sensations, Wed finds his influences in acts like Depeche Mode, Faithless and the major electronic scene. He moreover has proved during many concerts that enthusiasm and sincerity could be gainful until being approached by CBS in 1991. Too many intermediaries or maybe a lack of experience didn't make the deal.
Nevertheless motivated by this adventure, Wed joined backstage in 1992 by organizing concerts for dozens of local, national and international bands. Credits and associations include but are not limited to the following: No one is innocent, Timoria, Deep Purple, ZZ Top, Bob Dylan, etc.
Writing and composition were never far from it. As developing his repertoire, his composer skills were awarded in 1996 by the diffusion of more than 180.000 copies of his music in CD samplers of french magazines.
Wed also gained international exposure as MTV USA used one of his tracks for its show "Undressed" and by being featured on a US electronica compilation released in June 2001 by NY radio WUSB.
In 2004, Wed has been one of the very few finalist of a contest held by a French national radio, RTL2. That contest gathered hundreds of pop/rock bands and only 19 of them had been selected as finalists nationwide.
A very busy year that reached its climax with the release of Parallel Universes, a 13 tracks album containing two astonishing but yet different covers of The Mission's Deliverance and Depeche Mode's Sister of night. This album subtly mixes synthpop and darwave touches and provides always different atmospheres making each song an individual experience.
This was also the time to give a live boost, until late 2005 Wed concentrated on live performances gaining exposure and enthusiasm in northern east France, Luxembourg and Germany.
With the final concerts done, it was time to look behind and develop new material. 2006 has been the year of experiments and influences reality check. Iwerall, Wed’s new album, will deliver its much darker soul and crunchy vibe during 2007. Stay tuned.
