Sounds Like
Tom Robinson (presenter, BBC 6Music: Introducing) - "... that was We Do Kung Fu!, from Herefordshire!..."
Manda Rin (singer, Bis) - "… oooh, I like! x…"
Mike Doyle (ex-Echo and the Bunnymen / The Automatic tour manager) - "I really like what you're doing.... for some reason that I can't quite put my finger on which is a good thing!"
Mike Marsh (Chemical Brothers / Primal Scream / The Prodigy mastering engineer, The Exchange, Camden) - “… relentless, full on energy…!”
Andrew Marston (presenter, BBC Hereford and Worcester, “The Friday Session: Introducing”) - "... Hereford supergroup!..."
Plan B.no (music magazine, Norway)- "We Do Kung Fu! er et syvhodet rrrriotpartyband fra Hereford, Midlands i England. Syverbanden låter som et spillesugent og sjangledrita Le Tigre backet opp av Sex Pistols med postpunkheltene i Kleenex/LiLiPUT som overtente dirigenter."
Andy O'Hare (live reviews, "The Friday Session: Introducing", BBC Hereford and Worcester) - "... this had to be the most awesome set I've heard yet from the seven-piece monster outfit, vocalists Mat and Beti bounced effortlessly off each other with what sounded like a full concert orchestra in support. With new anthemic numbers like 'All Fall Down', 'Mountains' and 'Volume' under their belt, 2009 might just be a cracking year for this lot!..."
Nightshift (music fanzine, Oxford) - "...Hereford's We Do Kung Fu! offer frantically twee electro-punk-pop in an 80's stylee...!"
Alan Jepson (Vision Promotions, London) - "... heard you on Tom Robinson's Introducing show and thought your track sounded fantastic!"
Swiss Concrete (clubnight, Oxford) - "synths, saxes, heavy drinking and more...!"
The Devil Has The Best Tuna (reviews, blogsite)"... (WDKF! are) the latest blast of brilliance from the Filthy Little Angels bank of indie!..."
Ash (A&R scout, Small Town America Records, record label) -"Really like the songs!"
Matt - (A&R scout, Toffeetronic, record label) - "I love your noise - you're really great!"
Neil (promoter, The Tap House, Kidderminster) - "Love the tunes!"
Craigus (promoter, The Llama Lounge, Worcester) - "... We Do Kung Fu! played an incredibly energetic set, with psychedelic synth and guitar nutty-ness, mixed with shouty vocals and good time saxamaphone..."
Katie (reviewer, Skratch Magazine) - "You are seriously awesome!"
Sean (co-booker, Monmouth Festival, Wales) - "Loving your stuff!"
… so that was that! After 17 gigs, just under 18 months of playing, writing and rehearsing, and damn good times that outweighed everything else, We Do Kung Fu! are sadly no more…
A massive “thank you!” to everyone that came along to the last gig on Friday 4th September @ The Royal Oak, in Leominster… we’ve got loads of photos, videos and unreleased mp3s to share, so hopefully we’ll put these up in the next week or so :o)
As always, thank you to everyone and anyone who has ever come along to one of our gigs, been supportive of us, offered us gigs, and helped us along the way, especially to And What Will Be Left Of Them, Dandelion Killers, Brontosaurus Chorus, Ant Chapman, Mike Marsh, Manda Rin, Marisa Gunzenhauser, James Collier, Hadley Pawsey, Brendan Stephens, Rob Parker, The Marrs Bar, The Llama Lounge, Andy O'Hare, Andrew Marston, Tom Robinson and all our mates in Leominster and Hereford... cheers!
WDKF! :o) x

WE DO KUNG FU! were a BBC Radio featured, colourful, synth & brass-influenced electro-art-pop band, from the sleepy market town of Leominster, in Herefordshire. The 7-piece started making a racket in a lockup, near Leominster train station, in March 2008, and were all 23 years old or younger.
WDKF! received BBC Hereford and Worcester airplay from presenter/DJ Andrew Marston for promo track "Record Shop", recorded with "All Guns Blazing", produced and engineered in May ‘08 by BBC Hereford and Worcester sound engineer, Jon Marsh, at Shed Studios, in Herefordshire.
In November ‘08, the band recorded two spanking new promotional tracks, “Volume” and “… And It All Falls Down”, with the excellent Ant Chapman (Klaxons / McLusky / Bis producer + engineer) at INFX Studios, in Buckinghamshire. These tracks were mastered in January ‘09 by Mike Marsh @ The Exchange, in Camden (previously worked with Klaxons, Chemical Brothers, The Prodigy, Depeche Mode and Primal Scream) and are on the band’s promotional cd (… all copies have now gone, but you can listen to them on www.myspace.com/wedokungfu…)
... March '09 saw WDKF! lead promo track, "Volume", receive airplay and praise from Tom Robinson's BBC 6Music Introducing Show, Andrew Marston's BBC Hereford and Worcester "Friday Session: Introducing", and a host of positive feedback and reviews. We Do Kung Fu! played their last gig at 10pm, at The Royal Oak, in their home town of Leominster, on Friday 4th September 2009, in a sweaty room, rammed full of their friends, family and guests, dancing their little socks off until the late hours… it was bloody great and you should’ve been there.
Ever wondered what to do in the event of a nuclear threat?
A while ago I found stuff that inspired me to make this film:
Living Under the Shadow of the Nuclear Umbrella
Both artistic (ensure you get the background music!) and educational, it primarily comprises official British government civil defence advice.
Though source materials are quite aged, much remains relevant today.

£leTriKa sounds completely different from any Metal band you have ever heard. The Brazilian rhythms and the Portuguese language added to the songs makes its style unique, giving birth to a new kind of Metal. If you are really looking for something new about Metal, you should check £leTriKa out!

Valeu demais a força! Quando rolaumtempinho, me fala o que achou da £leTriKa. Agente junta Metal com umasparada Brasileira. Tamutendumbom feed nas rádios gringas nos quatrocontos. Mantenha contato, blz?
As you may or may not be aware SoundARC hold a charity gig every year at Club 85 in Hitchin in aid of the Garden House Hospice in Letchworth, and this year we are going to try something a little different from previous years.
This year we are going to take over the club and host 37 acts in one weekend putting full bands upstairs and acoustic acts downstairs in an event that we are calling ARCfest!
It all starts on Friday 4th December at 7pm and then continues on through Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th from 12pm-11pm
As well as raising money for the Garden House Hospice in Letchworth, ARCfest will showcase all the different genres of bands that we at SoundARC have come across over the last 4 and a half years. Over this weekend a lot of the acts that you will see don’t get a chance to play a great local venue like Club 85, So as well as hearing new music you will see all manors of genres and styles from acoustic - Metal - Indie - Rock - Punk - Electro - Ska - Funk - Hip Hop/Rap - Alternative - Rhythm & Blues - Reggae - Grunge and loads more that I cant remember!
