Après plusieurs démos et des apparitions dans diverses compilations (Digital Park, Dub Excursion, Dub in France...), WEEDING DUB réunit sur vinyl quelques titres stepper “maison” issus de rencontres humaines et musicales.
Ce premier album, “STEPPACTIVISM”, sorti en février 2004, s’inscrit dans la lignée du dub stepper & conscious, particulièrement développé en Angleterre, reflet digital de l’évolution d’une musique reggae aux multiples visages.
Largement influencé par cette scène dub anglaise (d’Aba Shanti I à Iration Steppas, en passant par The Bush Chemists, The Disciples ou Vibronics), WEEDING DUB se sent également proche de français comme Improvisators Dub, Uzinadub, Miniman ou Manutension.
On retrouvait d’ailleurs dans ce premier LP des valeurs sûres de la scène dub française que sont Manutension (Improvisators Dub) et Naïma Mansi (Dubians), ainsi que des artistes internationaux comme Neil “Zion Train” Perch ou Steve Vibronics venus apporter leur contribution au stepper “made in France”.
Accompagné sur scène du chanteur anglo-jamaïcain Humble I (dont les interventions microphoniques refletent l'état d'esprit résolument "nice & conscious" du groupe) Weeding Dub propose ses “dub sessions”, où l’on découvre, en plus des versions à chaque fois remixées des titres de ce premier LP, des morceaux inédits et prometteurs d'un PROCHAIN ALBUM PREVU POUR OCTOBRE 2008 !
After several demos and appareances in some dub compilations (Digital Park, Dub Excursion, Dub in France...), WEEDING DUB joined together on vynil some "home made" stepper tunes issued by human and musical meetings.
This first album called "STEPPACTIVISM", out in february 2004, is anchored in a stepper & conscious dub concept which is particularly developed in the UK and which is the digital reflect of the reggae music's evolution.
