Karrie Ann Lyons was born in the lovely seaside town of Dunedin, Florida in 1974. From a very early age, Karrie knew that her talents centered on creative endeavors. When asked what she wanted to be when she grew up her response was a resounding “I want to be an artist”. Introducing the style of WeeDot in 1991 while in art school, Karrie developed it into a free-form style of wonder, color and shape, which fits the passion and mind of Karrie’s way of thinking and life.
Karrie has been inspired by world renowned artist such as Salvador Dali, Wassily Kandinsky, Andy Warhol, Keith Herring and Georgia O’Keefe. Seeing these artists’ work gave her the passion for color and a free spirited way of life. Karrie’s WeeDot paintings bring a sense of joy to all that see them with powerfully bright colors and a whimsical feeling that bursts from the canvas. The name WeeDot could suggest many things, but to Karrie it’s a life source that drives her to create wonder into each of her works of art.
She now resides in Gainesville, Florida with her husband of 10 years and two beautiful daughters that inspire her creativity every day.
Who I'd like to meet: All the artists that I want to meet are all ready dead, like Salvador Dali, Wassily Kandinsky, Andy Warhol, Keith Herring, Jackson Pollock and Georgia O’Keefe. So meeting them would be a bit hard. I would like to meet someday the men that will make my 2 little girls happy but I still have alot of time to wait before I see that happening. Maybe as a side note Eddie Izzard. He's the 2nd funniest person I have ever heard in my life. My husband is the 1st.
