Influences
Our musical influences come from a variety of disparate sources, ranging from T Rex, Blue Oyster Cult, Iggy Pop, Joan Jett and Neil Young to The Pixies, Social Distortion and The Cure (to name just a few). If you like The Smiths, old REM and U2, Husker Du, Gogol Bordello, The Sundays, The Cars, Throwing Muses, Fetchin' Bones, Michelle Shocked, Aimee Mann, Cracker and you are open-minded and inclusive ... you have the makings of a Weeds fan.

Weeds of Eden = a love music, art, literature, nature and fun!
We have been playing our unique brand of "folunk" (a style dancing that fine line between folk and punk) around Indiana and the Midwest since the early 1990s. Tim and Jenn live in Brownsburg; Lori and Holly in Lawrence.
In Indianapolis, the Weeds have performed on the main stage at Verizon Wireless Music Center (then Deer Creek), The Vogue, The Patio, Birdy's, Zanies Too, The Whammy Bar, Melody Inn, Local's Only, Harley's Ten West, the Ugly Monkey and tons of places that no longer exist (including our original home-base, Chubby's Club LaSalle).
The Weeds also have played at Rhino's in Bloomington, Uncle Pleasants in Louisville, Flannigan's Landing in Cincinnati, Ace of Clubs in Nashville, Tenn., Peabody's DownUnder in Cleveland, and Cleo's and Kerrigan's in Chicago.
Over the years, the band has been recognized by the Indiana Music Awards, selected to represent Indianapolis at the Undercurrents International Music Expo, participated in several local and regional showcase events, and received airplay on radio stations WICR and WTTS.
Hey guys esspecially girls... please always be aware of your surroundings... someone close to me was using a pay phone at Village Pantry on 10th Street just east of Sherman Dr. when a man approached her and then began asking her something before she knew it she was being forced into the backseat of his car then he commenced to raping her... This was not someone she knew or was aquainted with. Most often rape/ sexual assault is usually somone you know. But then was not the case... there was also a 12 year old girl raped at 11th and Tuxedo... to keep yourself or your children safe do not let them walk any where alone... do not go out by yourself... I understand that these things happen all the time, but not like this. Many woman (or men even) that are raped know their attacker! Welcome to the swamps... not only do you have to worry about being robbed, now you have to worry about being raped... In both instances something is stolen from you. If you know girls that go to the Emerson Theatre please make them aware of the dangers out there... this is not a joke I am not trying to scare people... if something like this does happen to you or someone you know PLEASE REPORT IT TO THE POLICE!!! I know most of us do not care much for the IMPD, but they are there to help... We have to work together as a community to make sure that these violent attacks on women don't continue... If you would please repost this so your friends can read it and maybe we can make our city a little safer to live in. Thank you!
Saturday November 7 at The Vollrath Tavern, Indianapolis
With an assembly that includes members of Ministry (Warner Bros.) and Thrill Kill Kult (Rykodisc), it's obvious project .44 has a firm grasp on the aggro/industrial/tek metal scene. Hailing from the industrial/tek-metal capital of Chicago, where pioneers like Ministry paved the way for recent grads like Static-X, project .44 continues the tradition of Chicago's knack for mixing pulverizing guitar licks with catchy dance beats. It is the forging experience that Louis Svitek (Ministry) provides when laying down the tracks that the band transfers to the stage explicitly and explosively.
Also dance all night to resident DJs Copper Top, Zlaya, Krazy Karoline

“GAME OVER” for Cup & Saucer Café Current mood: melancholy Category: Life
We regret to announce the closing of Cup & Saucer Café after three and a half years in business. Call 513-544-7017 for information on buying the business. It was a good run for a mom & pop business, longer than many expected, especially considering that Marcy had a stroke just one month after we started. We had a lot of nice employees, customers, and entertainers but there were too many factors working against us. Maybe we’ll write a book about it when things calm down, but basically we had too many expenses, not enough income, and way too much stress. Health problems are the primary cause of failure of small business, and we had to bail out before it killed one or both of us. So everybody take care while we do the same. Some day we’ll get back to making Marcy Burgers, presenting great performers and taking photos of them. In the meantime keep in touch. We’d love for you to share your memories of Cup & Saucer and we’d also love to hear about your progress, especially if you got your start on our stage. Please leave comments on our page so everyone can share.
