  • General

    I love going to country music concerts! I've had season passes the last 5 years to the Summer Concert series at Post-Gazette pavilion. I've also been to Nashville for Fan Fair 5 years running. I've traveled to Portland, Indiana, Newmanstown and Laurelton, PA; Savannah, TN, and various other places to see some of my favorites. I enjoy sports, but baseball is my favorite. I also like to work in the garden, flowers...haven't tried vegetables yet. I love trivia games, crossword puzzles, and Jeopardy!

  • Music

    Country music is by far my favorite, but also like classic rock. About the only kind I don't care for is rap. Some of my favorites include Darryl Worley, Chalee Tennison, Chely Wright, Faith and Tim, Brooks and Dunn, Toby Keith, Chris Cagle, Martina McBride, Julie Roberts, Joe Patrick, Povertyneck Hillbillies, Little Big Town, Keith Urban, Steve Azar, Trace Adkins, James Taylor, Carly Simon, Suzy Bogguss, Harry Connick Jr., Michael Buble, Tony Bennett, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Patsy Cline, Reba, ....oh I could go on and on!

    I've read all of the Left Behind series by Lehaye and Jenkins. Self Matters, A Fine Romance, Praying the Bible for your Children, When God Whispers Your Name. I've read a lot of Shakespeare, Greek mythology, Eugene O'Neill, John Steinbeck, Ernest Hemingway, Elizabeth Barrett Browning. Currently reading Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World.

    My parents....my mother had an 8th grade education...she had to quit school to get a job and help the family. She never let that stop her from doing anything, and she was one of the smartest women I knew. Same with my dad. He had to quit school in 9th grade, but no matter what questions I had for him as a little girl, he always had an answer. He was a truck driver, and knew more than most college graduates I know. He taught me one of the most valuable lessons I've ever learned..."Don't let anyone intimidate you." My Dad's brother Joe is another one. I never knew him, but he was a hero from WWII. He was credited for saving a lot of lives when a buzz bomb hit a dining hall somewhere in England.

I'm a single mom with adult son and daughter who live with me full time. I have a lovable golden retriever, who thinks he's a lap dog! He doesn't seem to realize he's 110lbs! Who I'd like to meet:

Well....a lot of people! If I had the chance to meet persons who've already passed, I'd have to say my father's parents, brothers and sister and my mother's father. They had all passed long before I was born, but have heard many stories about them. History was never my strong point, so I'd also like to meet the early presidents...George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln. As for those who are living...Colin Powell, Rod Stewart, Ben Roethlisberger...I'll keep thinking 'bout this one!
