The WEEKEND DE LA PEUR Festival is a three-night showcase of International thrilling cinema. Our Second annual festival will take place on September 26-28, 2008, in Sainte Maxime near Saint Tropez (almost 10 minutes), France. Our Program features a diverse selection of feature-length french premieres and french short films on the cutting else, including acclaimed new Sci-Fi, Trash, Horror, Fantasy, Gore and Cult Movies from Asia, Europe, and North America.
WEEKEND DE LA PEUR’s primary mission is to showcase innovative, independent and international thrilling films, in front of French Audiences that would otherwise never get to see these works in a theatrical setting. One priority will also support homegrown thrilling genre filmmakers by showcasing emerging French talent, and awarding valuable prizes for the best locally produced films, as voted by a prestigious jury. We work very closely with France and other distributors and are often approached to make acquisition recommendations.
In 2007, 5 movies in Official Selection found a french distributor.
