It all began when producer Mike Gonek and singer-songwriter Brendan Beamish committed their full time and energy to doing what they love---making music. The fortuitous bi-product? Formation of the electro-pop/rock group Weekend Warriors. In just a short time, the Warriors have crafted a unique sound quickly seeping its way into the Canadian and U.S. mainstream. Gonek's beats are the driving force behind the Weekend Warriors. His retro-rock infused baselines provide the warriors with their signature sound. Jermaine Hamilton made an instant impression on Mike and Brendan while freestyling over one of their tracks at a party. With refreshing liveliness and swagger, Hamilton's rhymes bring an exciting new dimension to the crew. Rounding out the trifecta is Brendan Beamish. Brendan's radio friendly pop-laden hooks provide the group with instant mainstream appeal. Beamish's vocal ability, footwork, and confidence makes for a stellar recording but translates to the live audience as well.. The Weekend Warriors first album is a unique mixture of electro, rock, pop and soul. Interestingly enough, their debut was also recorded, produced, and mixed in a frat house in Toronto. Together, these individuals form a powerhouse trio moving bodies, capturing hearts, and blowing minds all over the world.
An MTV favorite, The Weekend Warriors music was recently featured on the season 5 finale of MTV's THE HILLS in addition to episodes of MTV's PARIS HILTON'S MY NEW BFF. The boys tunes have also been featured on not one but TWO episodes of this season’s MTV’s THE REAL WORLD: CANCUN.
