In the beginning there was a vast void of empty punk rock and metal. And the Ziggy, god of Salt Lake City Blues/Rock and DJ on 90.9 KRCL, saw that it was not good. And the Ziggy streched forth his hand and plucked out a guitarist. And the Ziggy molded this guitarist into a mighty tool of the blues. And Ziggy called him Joey, and saw that he was good. Ziggy called his works the first day. And the Ziggy again streched forth his hand and plucked him out a bass player. And Ziggy charged this bass player with the task of making fried-chicken-greasey basslines on his Stingray and singing the songs of the blues gods of the past, and called him Mark. And Ziggy saw that he was good, and called his works the second day. Then Ziggy charged his players to go and fetch them a drummer. Alas, many attempts were made, and many drummers strayed from the task which was appointed. Then sayeth the Ziggy "Art thou Spinal Tap? Wherefore can ye not keep a drummer?" Then sayeth the Ziggy "Go forth and find a drummer whom ye can keep." And Mark therefore found a drummer with much skills and went to show Joey. After seeing this drummer was much influenced by Neil Peart, they brought him before Ziggy. And Ziggy saw that he was good. And Ziggy said "I have created a most excellent Blues/Rock band, and they are good. They shall henceforth be known as Crosscut Saw." And Ziggy called his works the third day. And on the last Thursday of the month, the Ziggy rested. And the Ziggy said "Let the last Thursday of the month be known as 'Blues Jam' at Pat's BBQ." And henceforth this commandment was observed and kept by the band. And the band went on to play many excellent shows, on the quest to be signed and pay for the Ziggy's retirement fund.
