About me:
What can I write that I wouldn't mind potentially anyone who touches a computer to read? I guess I could start with why I'm here in the first place, which I believe was a few years ago to stay in touch with my cousin due to no longer seeing her in person. Ironically we rarely speak at all and have both changed to the point that we don't fully recognize each other anymore. I've also had a few other friends who were on here as well, and that's why I'm here.
Now to get into the 'who' I am part. I am Debbie, a college student who still doesn't know what she will get her degree in or exactly what she will be doing for the rest of her life, but enjoys working her job at a popular southern fast-food chain, writing, chess, egg rolls and taco salads, and making people laugh in general. I am the person who probably never shuts up, and usually speak my mind, though I constantly stick my feet in my mouth, and ask a lot of questions.
I am the one who tends to like a lot of what ends up being dubbed as 'geeky' or 'dorky', such as Star [blank] franchises, Poke'mon, aliens and space in general, chess, Sailor Moon, horror movies, and various other things. I am the person who is working on her 'smarter than you' attitude that I seemed to have developed over the years, not going to lie about that, if I think one is stupid, one would know, but it is something I'm working on, and hopefully improving in.
I also think that general religion can be ridiculous sometimes, yet fascinating at once. I don't have a problem with religion, and don't hate it, but I dislike the attitudes that some possess because of it, the common 'my god is better than yours' one. What I find amusing about these arguments is that if you think about it, we all believe the same thing, it all boils down to the exact same thing.
The thing is religion is mankind's way to relate to and explain the unknown of the universe (and in some cases control others, keep people in line, and so on). If you think about it, 'God' is the humanly unexplainable force that holds everything in the universe together, in a lot of cases this force has been portrayed as a single all loving being, which who says the force can't take such a form? Now my point is, every religion known since the dawn of time, is based on an explanation for everything going on in one's life, why are we fighting over who believes in it better?
Of course another human trait is nobody really wants to admit they're wrong, therefore we live in a world of constant fighting over who is right or wrong, because very few will back down. What I've come to realize is that everyone has a piece in the actual truth, but nobody has the complete picture alone, anyone who thinks they do is sadly in denial. And that is why I believe it is important to make an effort to listen to everyone, even if you dislike them, or think they are completely wrong in everything, or actually stupid, you would be surprised what you would learn.
Did I mention I am the one who also tends to ramble as well?
