| About The Outside Talkers |
|
The Outside Talkers are the product of Montreal's university jazz and pop-rock scenes, backed by the rhythms of two New York City pocket dwellers.
Michael Sackler-Berner, singer and rhythm guitarist, founded Montreal rock group, Hearts of Palm, toured the east coast, and has had songs licensed on national television (Law and Order: CI). On Wurlitzer and Hammond B-3 Organ is Dave Cohen, who has toured extensively with Relix Magazine's (June 2005 issue) number one up and coming act, Throwback. Paul Lambert, lead guitarist, has a jazz guitar degree from the McGill Conservatory in Montreal and numerous guitar contest titles to his name. He has played in groups varying from British Columbian metal band Dividing Line, to funk party band Steak This Thick. Michael, Paul, and Dave began playing, and soon moved to New York in search of a rhythm section. They found bass player Charles Becker, who has performed in nearly every funk venue in Manhattan with Buttafat and Eve's Life, and New York session drummer Chaim Tolwin, who has played in projects ranging from Alt Country group The Highway Sound to Jam band Bugg Juice. He is also a member of the Body Temple Drummer's Ensemble.
Their single, "Welcome to the Top," was produced by David Seitz (REM, Bruce Springsteen, Moby, Jeff Buckley, Gov't Mule). Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
