This page is dedicated to all the drunks and hobags that used to hang out at 18 and 18 1/2 Eldredge in downtown Mt. Clemens -- also known as THE FU!
From 2000 to 2005, a close group of friends ran one of the greatest, and most memorable party houses in Detroit's Eastside. Previously musicians in other bands, some of the guys that lived at, and hung out at The FU decided to form a band called Welfare Society.
For two years, WS made a strong name for the FU and its daily residents (drunks), developed a very dedicated following, and had a great time doing it. They often partnered up with a strange band from Flint known as TRUNK. Together, these two bands would put aside the frustrating business flaws of the local band scene, and throwdown at a small venue in downtown Detroit called The Old Miami.
As most good things eventually come to an end, the band decided to call it quits in July, 2004. Today, all members except Iain, have taken a break from the local Detroit rock scene. Iain currently plays in a band called EOS.

Ah the FU.... I remember many bong hits at the FU. I remember Randy Jams at the FU. I remember getting wasted and partying and puking and partying and recording and Sarge's porn and Skunky and when Randy and Dan #2 were BestFriendsForever and Kegerators and doing a (dry) show at Adrian College that sucked and and backstage at the I Rock getting really stoned and the other bands saying they don't get high before they play - haha! WS 4 life bitches - Gimme some food stamps!
