No escaping the fact that in my life Public Enemy has been the main influence on many levels.
But as rap music is getting bland on the mainstream level I have had to figure out different aspects of it. Internationally, on every single continent (Antarctica as an exeption as far a I know) Hip Hop is done with the highest standards.
That's what the radio show, which I am so proud to do, is about.
I could name few names but I would feel far too quilty of leaving too many out.
I also like some rock. Not too much of it but good song is a good song.
I love Kwaito and I feel that it would deserve much wider recognition also outside of the Southern Africa.
Jazz, old soul, funk, grime.. i feel that I find new music that moves me on daily basis.
I don't want to put limitations of what I take photos of - maybe things that look interesting to my eye. If not making money out of something means you are an amateur then that is what I am in photography.
Welfare State of Mind is a weblog and a radio show on the oldest community radio station in South Africa, Bush Radio, which is located in Cape Town.
Bush Radio has been a model for many community radio projects all around the globe although its primary purpose is to serve the community.
Welfare State of Mind radio show started in October 2005 from the Bush Radio studios but later on became a pilot project for station as the production of the show moved overseas. Welfare State of Mind supports international urban music from Americas to New Zealand, from South Africa to Scandinavia and everything in between.

Who wouldn't I like to meet? When it comes to these MySpace friends it is highly unlikely that I will add you if you have thousands and thousands of friends and I cannot see any correlation between my show and your interest/location.
I will add and I will request adds from lot of people. If you share the interests, want to contribute to the show or are my friend or otherwise friendly individual.
All I am saying that I am not going to have thousands of "friends" just because. PEace.

OK Mik, I think you and I need to host/broadcast/film a funky hip hop, USO style, international socialfest. Lift the vibes around the globe...
