GARGOYLES FANS FRAPPR MAP
Frappr maps have been used in the past to petition studios for other shows. They provide a good graphical representation of an audience/group. You don't have to give it your home address, city is enough. Notice the lack of middle America? If you're not from the United States you can still add yourself to the Frappr map, this window only shows a small portion of the map.

Who wrote the score for Gargoyles? coz i happened to notice a DSCH motif and its intrigued me.
Carl
Johnson wrote the score for
Gargoyles. He's also done the score for many Winnie the Pooh movies,
The Hunchback of Notre Dame II (2002), Aladdin (2, 3, and the TV series), Windtalkers (2002), Pinky and The Brain (1995-1998), Animaniacs (1993-1998), Batman: The Animated Series (1992-1995).

The Great Lexington Debate.
Why is Lexington not on the "Stars" list?
Lexington isn’t missing from the “Stars” list, he was purposely left off of it. The “Stars” list is more to get the casual fan excited rather than the diehard. The idea is that someone who vaguely remembers the show looks at the “Stars” list and goes “wow, look at all those Star Trek guys…and Ed Asner….the guy from Crash…Jim Belushi….Richard Grieco…. MAX HEADROOM! WOW! I have to check this show out again.” It’s an attempt to milk the star power of the show. Unfortunately
Thom
Adcox-Hernandez who played Lexington isn’t real well known. His most famous role is that of Lexington. You can’t define a word in the dictionary using the actual word in its own definition (strong means to be strong) nor can we define the actor this way (Lexington was played by Thom Adcox-Hernandez, most famous for playing Lexington), doing so would weaken the
impact of the “Stars” list.
if we do get the show back on...the people are going to sound different or not want to return at all....its too late to bring new episodes but if we are fighting for the show to go back on air i'm all for it...
Many of the
voice actors have expressed interest in returning to the show. Greg
has stayed in contact with many of them and many of them show up at The
Gathering every year. Greg
has said on numerous occasions that he feels he could get the majority of
the cast back together if another Gargoyles animated series/continuation
were to start. As far as the voices sounding different, a few
might...the majority won't. If you hear the UPS commercials, the commercials
for Saints Row, or have seen the movie Crash then you know Goliath is
alive and well. The Gargoyles cast were all adults and their voices
have not changed all that much. Listen to the voice of Cartoon
Network's Toonami, 20 years later and that is STILL Optimus Prime.
any ideas where i can get some good images of Thailog , the rest
of the gargoyle clones and the animal/gargoyle hybrids like talon
and that lot?
The easiest
and quickest place to find pictures of characters is the Gargoyles
Encyclopedia. They've
got almost every character from the show (even minor ones). The only
downside is that they only give you one picture for each
character. If you have some time and don't mind picking
through lots of thumbnails the Avalon
Archive is great.
They've got screen shots, scanned trading cards, scanned sticker albums,
the old (non Greg Weisman) comic books.
I got a whacky rumor for you, I heard that there *might* be a possible Gargoyles movie...I *think* it would be a live-action version, the story pretty much centers around Goliath while showing the other gargoyles and various human chracters. Does anyone know if the rumor was only a rumor????
There was a
Gargoyles movie being developed years ago. Greg Weisman wrote a
treatment that Touchstone rejected. The movie was then kicked around
for another 5 years with very bad script ideas (from other writers) most
of which were very loosely related to the cartoon. At one point Jean
Claude Van Dam was supposed to be in it so it might be a good thing the
movie never happened.
do
you know of any reason why toon disney doesnt play the eposide where
broadway shot elisa?
oh.. and does the dvd set include ALL the
episodes? ..'cause i know theres more that toon disney doesnt play, i
just cant remember them..
Toon Disney used to not show episode 8 Deadly Force,
they didn't think it was appropriate for little kids to see. They do NOW
play the episode though, most recently July 30th.
The 1st
DVD release contains all 13
episodes of the 1st season. The 2nd DVD release contains
half of the 2nd season (26 episodes). If the 2nd half of the 2nd
season is released on DVD then all the canon episodes will be on DVD.
The 3rd season (The Goliath Chronicles'13 episodes) doesn''t count in the
Gargoyles continuity because they weren't done by the original Gargoyles team
(Greg Weisman and crew).
I think that if the Cartoon Network's Adult Swim can play the episodes of Gargoyles, it might help to get them to continue the series. It worked for Family Guy and also Fox is currently developing new episodes of Futurama to return to TV. So if it worked for those shows then Gargoyles might just then have a
chance
Gargoyles would be a perfect fit for Cartoon
Network either blocked with their other superhero shows like Justice League or
in the [Adult Swim] block. Unfortunately the Cartoon Network thing is never
ever going to happen. Disney doesn't let any outside companies touch any of
their series now that they have the Disney Channel, Toon Disney, ABC, and ABC
Family. Lots of people have asked Greg Weisman about Cartoon Network on
Ask
Greg and his response has always been
that Disney won't let anyone other than themselves make money off any of their
properties.
About me:
For a 1000 years the gargoyles slept frozen in stone then in 1994 they awoke in Manhattan, New York...and after 2 years they were
frozen and locked away in the Disney vault for another 8 years. Finally, after years of begging Disney released the first season on DVD.
A year later Disney released the 1st half of the 2nd season on DVD. Whether or not the 2nd half of the 2nd season comes out on DVD is questionable.
Disney has its eyes on the property. They've licensed Creature Comics to do a comic book series with Gargoyles creator Greg Weisman as the writer. Disney has also now licensed Hot Topic to sell a Gargoyles T-shirt. This is the first new piece of Gargoyles memorabilia to be released in a long time.
If the comic, T-shirt, and currently available DVD's do well then another DVD release will happen and its very likely NEW EPISODES could be made to continue the series. The creator, Greg Weisman, would like to make more episodes and most of the original cast has expressed intrest in coming back to the show. DVD sales have brought back Family Guy, Futurama, and ECW. DVD sales could bring back this classic as well.
