Welcome to Wellington Live Music's MySpace!
Wellington Live Music was started in March 2007 as a platform for reviewing local and touring music acts. A few months later, it expanded to include news, opportunities, links and a local gig guide. There's also a strong emphasis on music photography on the site.
We cover any genre, and are strongly supportive of local bands, although we also include touring artists. The only criteria for being on the site is that you are from or based in Wellington, or that you play here.
Wellington Live Music became so popular that the blog format was too restrictive, and we have launched the new www.wellingtonlivemusic.com!
We are now upgrading the site again, to absolutely optimise the resource, and the new site is scheduled to be launched in July 2008.
The new Wellington Live Music is more useful, with a comprehensive directory including artists profiles, an easy to use gig calendar, and venue guide. There will also be forums, and you can still post comments on each review or interview, rather than having to go to the forums to discuss it. All in all, it will be easier to use, more interesting, more useful, and better looking!
Our mission is to be the one-stop central place for everything to do with music in Wellington, to further the larger aim of encouraging and supporting local music, because it's so good.
If you would like to be involved as a writer or photographer, please contact charlette @ wellingtonlivemusic dot com. We welcome one-off contributions, or you could become one of our regulars.
If you would like to advertise on Wellington Live Music, please contact charlette @ wellingtonlivemusic dot com for our ratecard. We do have discounted rates available for local unsigned bands as we want to support you in promoting your event.
If you like Wellington Live Music, please support us by letting your friends know, and visiting regularly! There's always things going on.
Please note: Currently the site is not viewable in IE7 - frustrating, we know! Bear with us while we upgrade!
