Some reviews of THE OUTCASTS WILL MAKE A STRONG NATION:
"It's a Cracker! Where other bands choose to brood, The Wells kick out the jams as they chase the devil." - MilesofMusic
"The Wells' willingness to stray from convention is the ace up their sleeve...Robert Loss could not be more aptly named, as his songs are positively drowning in their own weight, tiny vignettes of pain and longing that hit like a fist...." - Rick Allen, THE OTHER PAPER
"Simple but rich, bringing to mind smooth whiskey and the stomp of a boot on a bare plank floor." - Melissa Starker, ALIVE
"...a gem [in] the long line of albums that fall into the realm of 'Americana'." - Aaron Beck, COLUMBUS DISPATCH
"What really makes this album stand out is the characters in the songs." - NINEBULLETS.NET
"Talk about anti-heroes, we have characters here that Cormac McCarthy would love to create." - TWANGVILLE
"The punk attitude is apparent throughout without ever getting in the way - it is energy, an approach, and a willingness to play around with form. It isn’t bondage trousers and a soap Mohican." - AMERICANA UK

"Sounds like wind blowing in a wheatfield, train rolling down the line, rain coming down on a old tin shed, steel, wire and a rusty heart. Boots of leather and dust and ash. Mollasess and coal and stone. Wedding rings and buried bones of love broken and burnt. Tales and the footprints, ravenswings and souls are earnt"
Remember how last time Jason Isbell was in town you couldn't make it? Despair no more, and pencil in Feb. 12th. It's pretty cheap, and he's worth seeing on his own.
