About me:
SCREENING ALERT! NEW JERSEY FILM FEST OCT. 4&9
We Love You has been selected by the New Jersey Film Festival! We are particularly proud to be a part of this 28 year old NJ tradition that has hosted world-recognized filmmakers such as Martin Scorsese and D.A. Pennebaker. The New Jersey Film Festival is organized by the Rutger’s Film Co-Op @ Rutger’s University Program in Cinema Studies where Director Jonathan Kalafer studied film as an undergrad.
We Love You has two screenings as part of the festival. The first screening is October 4th and the second is on October 9th. Both screenings start at 7PM in Scott Hall 123.
For more info go to The NJ Film Fest Website
Directions and Parking to Scott Hall 123
Take the NJ Turnpike to Exit 9 and then take Route 18N (New Brunswick direction) and go for 2 1/2 miles to the College Avenue Campus/George Street exit (immediately after the Route 27S exit) and make a left at the light at the end of the exit ramp onto George Street, then go to the next light and make a right onto Hamilton Street, then go to the next light and make a right onto College Avenue. Almost immediately on your right hand side there is an University Parking Lot (9) which is made available for our patrons to park in. Scott Hall is adjacent to the parking lot on the right. Patrons can also park in Rutgers Lots 1 (next to Kirkpatrick Chapel) and 16 (next to Murray and Milledoler Hall).

Every summer since 1972, Rainbow Gatherings have attracted tens of thousands of people at a time to a different U.S. National Forest. They create a temporary city in the wilderness, complete with kitchens, plumbing, medical care, sanitation, and childcare. The gathering culminates with an elaborate and graceful prayer for Peace on the Fourth of July. All of this happens through the efforts of individuals without any formal organization or leaders and without anyone buying a ticket or being paid for their labor. After the gathering Rainbows take great efforts to re-naturalize the area leaving virtually no trace that what is often the largest city in the area existed there.
Three-time Academy Award-Nominated Producer Steve Kalafer’s newest documentary 'We Love You' takes you to this mystical city that is co-created once a year. In the remote meadows and forests of Wyoming you'll see the achievement that is the Rainbow Gathering and meet some of the people who attend. You will hear the campfire music, drum circles, and prayer. You will witness the violent oppression this group endures when Federal Agents raid the children's area of the gathering with tasers and pepper-spray projectiles. Then, you will feel inspired as thousands gather the very next day and pray for peace. It isn’t a music festival, it isn’t Burning Man, and it isn’t your Grandpa’s Fourth of July BBQ . . . it is the Annual Rainbow Gathering of the Tribes.
