| About John Welsh & Los Amigos |

John Welsh got his musical inspiration while living in Guatemala where he was influenced by the upbeat rhythms and sounds of Latin America. He met band members Nate Larsen(drums) and Judy Kucysnka(sax) while jamming to some Bob Marley tunes at an Abbotsford jam night. With Chris Welsh(bass) and Steph Smith(trumpet/cello) they began gigging around the Lower Mainland in 2005 as the Welsh Brothers Band and developed a strong following based on their lively, danceable reggae/rock/latin tunes. They were joined by guitarist Gilles Morneault last year who added some rocking electric guitar sounds to the band and filled out the sound. The fast rhythms and catchy melodies of the band get crowds dancing and singing along wherever they play and have given them a reputation for upbeat, energetic shows. John Welsh & Los Amigos have three CD's out and are currently recording a five song EP of new material. Look for them at venues across the Lower Mainland.
