ice hockey of all levels, 19th-century Russian literature, calligraphy & the written word, playing with my flowers, and movies that don't solve anything.
Music
The Cure, The Grateful Dead, The Smiths, The Clash, lotsa dead guys most people don't know about (e.g., Monteverdi, Buxtehude, Fauré, Bartók, Hindemeth, Dello Joio), some that people do (e.g., Haydn, Mozart, Chopin), traditional Persian music, and trance electronica.
2046, In the Mood for Love, Bin ans Ende der Welt (Until the End of the World), The Nightmare Before Christmas, and Casablanca
Television
The History Channel, History International, The Military Channel, National Geographic, Animal Planet, and Discovery. (yeah, we're nerds.)
Books
Take your pick—I have six bookcases and need more! All-Time favs: The Decameron by Boccaccio, Les Liaisons dangereuses by Laclos, Anna Karenina by Tolstoy, The Wanting Seed by Burgess, and the Dune series by Herbert.
Heroes
My parents, Fritz Stoner (I love him), and Blaise Delnis.
• Happily married, but don't ask me how long because I can never remember (we met in '98, you do the math). All I know is he accidentally stood me up on our first date, and then I accidentally stood him on Valentine's Day three weeks later, and then he moved in. What can you do? I took him for a four-and-a-half-year test drive and decided he was worth keeping, especially since he's a hockey fanatic (though I do have to forgive him for being a Flyers fan) and a Twin Peaks fanatic, and he buys me flowers for no reason.
• I am out of the rat race! After a year of teaching and seven in advertising, I've left behind that ladder-climbing office world that I never really wanted to be in anyway to pursue freelance work. Currently I work as a fiction manuscript editor, and I copy edit and proofread for academic publishers. Yea! I get to play with words all day (okay, really night since I am an extreme night owl and cannot seem to function before 11 a.m. but can work like a bandit riding through the flames of hell between midnight and 4 a.m.).
• Instead of children, I have two cats, Reeses and Hoobie, who think they run the house (and do); Rimmon, an gorgeous navy, crown-tailed betta fish; and three goldfish—Glub-Glub, the sadistic (yes, sadistic) goldfish who likes to play dead; Statler, who likes to pester Glub-Glub; and Waldorf, who, oddly has turned white despite being being a "black something-or-other" goldfish.
• Where will you find me in the winter: planted in front of the TV watching my Edmonton Oilers remain a small-market Canadian team or jeering my husband's hapless Flyers while digging into a half gallon of ice cream.
• Where will you find me in summer: playing among my flowers, daydreaming about Agent Cooper, or waiting, with my nose in a book, for the next thunderstorm to roll over my house.
• If you wonder about my oft-described contradictory personality, here is some quick insight. If you aren't familiar with astrology, take a quick peek at any astrology Web site, and the answers will come. :p

Hi Wendyjo! When I saw your profile page, our last meeting was the first thing I thought of. I read that you'd like to meet the Dalai Lama. Yesterday, I saw him speak at Lehigh University. Did you go? It was great to be in his presence and hear him speak.

*LOL* yeah, i am glad to know that there's book lovers out there like me :-) I had to toss out some books a few months back, and boy did my shelves look lonely! This year, i promised myself to buy only what i will keep! :-)
Haven't said 'hello' in for-fu@#ing-ever. How's things? The storm woke me and I am suffering from a bit -o- insomnia. Thought I would stop by and say.....'hi'.
