My first hero is my grandma, Geraldine Garrison. She passed away August 18, 2007 from ALS or Lou Gehrig's disease. She never worried about dying even though she knew she had a fatal disease. She only worried about the ones who love her that she was leaving behind. She didn't want to burden us with her illness. WE are the lucky ones to have had her in our lives to bless us with all of her love. She will live on forever in our hearts. If you would like to help in the battle against ALS and to help find a cure, please visit www.alsa.org.
My second hero is my daughter. She is an amazing person. She is outgoing, smart, funny, talented, kind, beautiful, warm hearted, patient, generous....she loves to sing, dance and act....Oh I could go on and on and on. She bursts out with the most random sayings. If someone is frowning she will smile at them to try to make them feel better. She has learned a lot from my first hero in the 11 short years that she got to know her.
Who I'd like to meet: I turned the dreaded BIG 30 last June. I have 2 children; a daughter who just turned 12 and a son who was born in Sept. There is almost 12 years between my children. I am amazed everyday by what a strong young lady I have raised and I am excited to watch my son grow into the man he will be someday. They both have an excellent role model to look up to in life---> I found the love of my life May of 05'. We are planning our wedding for Spring of 09'. He is the most wonderful man, best friend, and father! Before the birth of our son, he really filled the void of a supportive and dependable father for my daughter. My life is my family. I am undefined without them. I have the most wonderful friends a girl could ever ask for! Some I was estranged from for many years, but thankfully we have found our way back to one another! Although we haven't had the time or finances lately, we love to go to concerts! I love to have fun! Hang out with friends, go see plays, watch my daughter perform and I love to sing. Whenever I am in a slump and feeling blue, I turn on the radio or put on a CD and sing my little heart out.
My life really changed in August of 2007. I lost my grandma who raised me to ALS or Lou Gehrig's disease. I do not wish this disease on my worst enemy. She inspires me everyday to make her proud and be the best mother and person I can. After my grandma's death I had real issues with God for taking one of his most faithful servants from us. As of lately I have been finding a real spiritual healing from worshiping and loving God. If this is where I find peace then so be it.
And this little guy looks a lot like my little man! Too cute!
