Jesus. My family. Friends. Neighbors. Meaningful relationships. Nothing superficial. For fun ... spending time with people I love ... movies ... dinner out ... hiking ... nature ... surfing the web ... creative projects ... church ... etc...
Music
Anything that lifts me up. Nothing that brings me down. Who wants help with that??
Movies
A Walk to Remember is my all-time favorite movie ... now that's the way to fall in love!! I also like suspense, sci-fi, action-adventure, romantic comedy, drama ... pretty much everything except horror or anything gross or scary ... I try to stick to PG-13!!
Television
Lost, So You Think You Can Dance, Dancing with the Stars, American Idol, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. A few of the last remaining "clean" shows on television. *Sigh!*
Books
Books that help me know Jesus more. The Bible. Boundaries by Cloud & Townsend (the first book to really help me). Breaking Free by Beth Moore ... awesome book and Bible study! Every Christian basics for living in freedom!!! Captivating by John & Stasi Eldridge, which I read over the summer last year. Experiencing God ... another great study by Beth Moore.
"The mention of my daughter's name may bring tears to my eyes, but it never fails to bring music to my ears. If you are really my friend, let me hear the beautiful music of her name. It soothes my broken heart and sings to my soul."
I am a wife, a mother, a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a friend and I love the Lord with all of my heart. I have a beautiful son, Benjamin, who just turned 4 in March and is the joy of my life. I lost my daughter, Abigail, at birth on November 29, 2006. I know she is with Jesus and is being loved even better than I could ever dream of loving her! Although I miss her every day, my hope is in knowing that we will be reuinted someday when we meet again in heaven. If you don't know Jesus, I don't know how you cope in this life. Jesus said there would be many troubles, but He alone is our hope! His promise of eternal life is the only hope we have and he will sustain us during the storms of this life. If you do not know Him, I urge you to "taste and see that the Lord is good" (Psalm 34:8). He has blessed us in so many ways and, despite our pain, He is calming us through this storm, even now.
"We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed."
~ 2 Cor. 4:8-9
"I lift up my eyes to the hills--
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the LORD,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
He will not let your foot slip--
he who watches over you will not slumber;
indeed, he who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
The LORD watches over you--
the LORD is your shade at your right hand;
the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.
The LORD will keep you from all harm--
he will watch over your life;
the LORD will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore."
~ Psalm 121
I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.
~ Psalm 27:13-14
