WESLEY DIAMOND
Wesley Diamond (Wesley Paul Allen) a new star in the Reggae Heavens was born in Kingston to Merril Malcolm and Henry Allen. He has five sisters and a brother and grew up between Kingston and Spanish Town.
He attended the Salvation Army Preparatory School then subsequently Horizon Park All-Age School. And Jonathan Grant High School. He first sang in the Church Choir and when he decided to enter the secular music world he started to hang out with Flex, Lieutenant Stichie, Luciano, Ricky Stereo, Kiprich, and Mad Cobra before they became recognized artists. Wesley Diamond was inspired by these artists, including Beres Hammond.
With the encouragement of family and friends who saw his talent Wesley decided to record music. His debut single was ‘Run for your life’ which he did with Hitman Wally for CB Production in 1989. This was followed in 1990 by ‘Jah Love is easy’ with Skullman. This followed by combinations with Lexus, Polka Dot, Snow Cone, Sugar Slick, Don T and others.
In 2000-2006 he did the single “No more I lie’ for Sly Gordon’s 321 Strong Label, ‘Far Away’ for the Platinum Label, ‘Don’t stop try’ for Call Me Shams Label, ‘Life of a Gangster’ for Jah Snow Cone Label, and‘Gun Ting’on the Big Yard Label in collaboration with Kiprich, and many more.
Currently, ‘Bad Mind and Greed’ on Jah Snow Cone Label, ‘Garrison Life’ on Big Yard Label, ‘Sail Away’ on Jah Snow Cone Label, ‘Nah tek no Talk’ on Juke Boxx Label, ‘Nah Give Up’ on Big Yard Label, ‘Stylie’ in collaboration with Uni Corn on Hands and Heart Label, ‘Enemies' in collaboration with Red Rat on Izizes Production and ‘Tell me a who’ on the House of Stars Label and many more. He also did ‘You Can't Dis Gangsters’ in collaboration with Shaggy and the Big Yard Family on the GT Label, that was used has a sound track in the movie Shottas a sony production. Diamond has appeared on countless major stage shows.
Diamond’s favourite Local and International artiste are numerous. His favourite colours are blue and white, and his favourite dish is Ackee and Salt Fish with cornmeal dumpling, yam, banana and breadfruit.
He looks forward to taking his career to the highest level by way of hard work and determination. Diamond hopes his music will influence others.
