Moon safari started as a figment of Petter Sandström and Johan Westerlund's imagination in the late twentieth century. Realised in 2003, the band released their debut album "A doorway to summer" in 2005 and followed it up with double album "Blomljud" in 2008.
Fifteen minutes of rehearsal on a dark February night was all it took to make the members of the band feel warm and summery inside. So the following month they entered the local recording facilities in Skelleftea, a small stretch of shoreline in the north of Sweden, and begun scribbling down the blueprint for what would later become "A doorway to summer".
The four-track demo recorded that spring was send to Mr Tomas Bodin of the Flower kings. The bands star-struck attitude must have been the convincing factor as he happily agreed to make the long journey north to mix and master the demo in the summer of 2003. The outcome of the collaboration, resulting in great versions of “Doorway” and the booming “Lovely rain”, pleased both parties and it was decided then and there that they would record an album, with Tomas himself playing the role of producer.
The album, named "A Doorway To Summer", was received very well across the globe. Much thanks to the band's vocal abilities which gave the music a fresh approach to the whole genre. Moon Safari had started making a name for themselves in the progrock world.
When the band released their sophomore effort "Blomljud" in 2008, it became clear that this was no one hit wonder band. Critics once again threw rave reviews and the album became a huge success for the band. Moon Safari gigs are sparse, but after knocking the wind out of crowds both in Gothenburg and Belgium in the later part of 2008, the band will dance across the ocean for the first time in May 2009 to play at the renowned Rites of Spring festival.
Meanwhile, writing for a third album has already started. And for Moon Safari fans, winter 09/10 might feel warmer than usual!
Happy the band/ Moon Safari

OK, so you play the classic, "symphonic" prog, but more than this I really appreciate the singing. You guys have serious vocal chops, and have an amazing ability to craft harmonies and blend the vocals in such an incredible way. I can't say enough good about ya.
