The West Chester Symphony Orchestra is a non-profit organization made up of volunteer musicians from West Chester, OH and surrounding areas. The orchestra was formed in June of 1997 by community members who wanted to promote string music to the community and to students of the Lakota School District, and to provide a local community orchestra for string players and other musicians of the West Chester area.
The orchestra's first performance was for the Grand Opening of the Keehner Park Amphitheater on Labor Day, a tradition that continues today. Since that time, our performance season has grown dramatically. We play multiple concerts every summer at the Keehner Park Ampitheater in West Chester, participate in the Fine Arts Fund Sampler Weekend with a yearly performance, and perform at various locations throughout the community (shopping malls, libraries, retirement homes...) The majority of our concerts are free and open to the public, although we do have an annual fundraiser concert which is always an exiting event and usually includes dinner, live and silent auctions, and guest performances in addition to the orchestra's concert.
The orchestra is currently seeking new members, especially string players. Adults and students, ages 15 and up, are welcome. No auditions are required.
If you would like more information about joining the symphony, booking the symphony for a performance, or general information please call 513 829-2779 or 513 777-9609, or send us a message!
West Chester Symphony Orchestra's Friend Space (Top 7)
Where is the clarinet section? They seem to be missing. They are at every concert and most rehearsals. One of the most important sections in the orchestra.
