This highly-anticipated event took place on Friday May 11th, 2007 (the night following the 2007 Blues Music Awards) at the world-famous Gibson Beale Street Showcase in beautiful downtown Memphis, TN. There were performances by then-recent Delta Groove roster addition, Phillip Walker, as well as favorites John Long, The Mannish Boys, Hollywood Blue Flames, The Jackie Payne & Steve Edmonson Band, and Mitch Kashmar. The night will be kicked off with performances by Blue Bella artists Nick Moss & The Flip Tops (with special guests Bill Lupkin and Eddie Taylor Jr.) and The Kilborn Alley Blues Band.
Delta Groove Music & Blue Bella Records artists earned a combined 15 nominations for the 2007 Blues Music Awards, including “Acoustic Album Of The Year” (John Long), “Band Of The Year” (Mannish Boys - Delta Groove /
Nick Moss & the Flip Tops - Blue Bella), “Historical Album Of The Year” (Hollywood Blue Flames), “Instrumentalist-Guitar” (Kid Ramos - Delta Groove / Nick Moss - Blue Bella), “Instrumentalist-Harmonica” (Mitch Kashmar), “Album Of The Year” (Nick Moss & the Flip Tops), “Soul Blues Album Of The Year” (Jackie Payne & Steve Edmonson Band),
and “Best New Artist Debut” (The Kilborn Alley Blues Band).
The event was co-hosted by Bill Wax of XM Radio (Channel 74 - Bluesville) and Brett Fleming of WEVL (Memphis). Rarely is there a chance to witness these artists on one stage together for a night of celebration.
