About WESTPORT FOLK AND BLUEGRASS FESTIVAL

Uri Kohen and the Electric Cave Production (ECP) are very proud to announce the 3rd Westport Folk and Bluegrass Festival, edition 2009.
After a very successful first two years, Uri and his team promise to keep the flame of music burning and to sustain the high standard of music and production levels at this unique festival.
Once again we will provide local, national and international acts from the very top of the folk and bluegrass world.
The festival will combine evening pub gigs, lunch time gigs, bluegrass workshops and one main event on Saturday, June 27th in the newly built Mill Times Hotel in the heart of Westport.
Westport town itself has a lot to offer and all music fans are invited to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Westport that once again won the great award of Ireland's Tidiest Town
While at the festival you can visit one of the country’s best golf courses :
The Westport Golf Club. Westport has great cinemas, great leisure centres and superb bars and restaurants. The festival will take place on the last weekend of June : 26-27 and 28th and Uri and his team are hoping to make this festival one of the biggest events on the Irish Folk & Bluegrass Calendar.

Our debut EP Little World is now available at our gigs and will soon be available from our myspace and facebook pages, you will also be able to download it from itunes, but we don't have a release date for this as yet. To celebrate the fact that we have now reached 25,000 plays on myspace, we are giving you a free MP3 of Rockabye Baby. All you have to do is send your email address to queen.elvis@yahoo.ie and we will send it to you. We have spent the last year rehearsing with a full band and are now ready to bring it on the road. You can get a look at us when we appear on Balcony TV this week with the full line up. We are currently taking bookings for gigs/concerts/festivals and can be contacted on the email above, or through our myspace and facebook pages. Had a few more problems with my back since I was over to play the festival which has stopped me doin' some stuff this year. Next year is already lookin' good though. Should have the new album done by Christmas which would be good. Catch you next year. CHEERS !! Lithuania two weeks after Westport. (That was a poorly constructed first sentence.) But people should really NOT advertise their bands this way, 'ya know? Man, I hate that too. Well...I mean...ahhh...I don't "hate" it...after all that is what I am doing here...so really...feeling a bit foolish now...you know what I mean...gotta get the word out about my band...not a young fellow anymore...oh God, this is not going well, is it? Right. Deep breath...start again. The Coal Porters play BOTH Sept. 4 Fri and Sept. 5 Sat this weekend. So you and your friends, dear reader of this mass emailed missive, will need TWO excuses why you couldn't make it next time you bump into one of the band and they ask where you were...be thinking of them now, okay? Friday Sept. 4 is at the Kings Head, Downstairs at the Kings Head to be exact and is at 8pm. This gin joint has top tunes and nice real ales. Yum. Sat Sept. 5 is at 8pm also and is at the FABULOUS Green Note in Camden Town, a short walk from the station. This fashionable little West Side bistro has GREAT FOOD served by nice people at a fair price. Top that, Gordon Ramsey! Plus not one soul working at The Green Note ever said they played for Glasgow Rangers when in fact, Gordon, they never did. So there. Eat that with your quiche, Ramsey! Back to the Coal Porters...witness the silly (but quite truthful) sentence below. You guys read it and I promise to stop. I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity of playin' in Westport again in an' outside Geraghty's as part of a marvellous festival an' thanks also for organisin' transport with Finnbar for gettin' me back to Knock airport yesterday.
