Westside FM is new and innovative approach to radio in West London and is the only station targeting young people based in the local area.
Our Audience
We are targeting a diverse spectrum of listeners aged between 15 and 30. This represents over 300,000 potential listeners in the West London boroughs of Brent, Ealing, Hammersmith, Fulham, Harrow, Hillingdon and Hounslow. Sometimes known as the “myspace / facebook” generation, this is a highly influential age group, which sets the pace when it comes to fashion trends and music. It is a highly effective route for advertisers to reach a young audience, who are stylish and technologically aware with the disposable income to buy what they want.
Our Focus
Our focus is on bringing diverse communities together and in particular giving young people a platform to express themselves and take control of their own lives. We are a widely recognised operator across West London having been instrumental in creating a host of current talent on radio stations such as BBC Radio 1 (Bobby Friction), BBC 1Xtra (Marky Mark), BBC Asian network (Ameet Chana) and Kiss FM (Neev). Westside FM is supported by local statutory and voluntary organisations in West London including Ealing Council who will host a regular show on the station.
Our Music
Westside FM will air a mixture of chart music, dance, rnb, hip hop, funky house, drum n bass, garage, club classics, reggae and bhangra/asian beats. The station will feature a broad range of specialist and generalist shows, hosted by a combination of established and new DJs from various media backgrounds, with the best in upfront music, celebrity / artist interviews, news, reviews, fashion, sports, lively debates, and more.
Filling the Gap
Westside FM will provide what has long been missing from West London; a viable alternative to national radio stations, newspapers and magazines, delivering entertaining, varied and relevant local content. Our hosts will inform listeners on local news and events, aided by their lively research teams pounding the streets to review the best bars, clubs, and restaurants. Westside FM will be heavily integrated in the local community with close links to local schools, colleges, universities and clubs. Our street teams will be present at events in the area, ensuring we are highly visible and in tune with our market, giving our listeners what they want, when they want it.
