Pooches (please pick up) and indoor kitties. The best damned architecture in one small space in the whole world. Saying hello to neighbors we know something about. #@&&*$#@$#$-ing somebody up for parking on our property (sorry if you worked hard to get off street parking, you have to protect it!). Garden Walk. We love music on the West Side! Greg Klyma, Ookla the Mok, A Hotel Nourishing, Bela's Shadow, Goo Goo Dolls, Ani DiFranco, Bearhunter, cynkh, and all the Buffalo Peeps! And of course all the wonderful venues!
Also, there are two kinds of music played on the *streets* of the West Side: One has a hip-hop bass line, and one has a Latino rhythm. Both can be slammin', if you're in the mood. We are very happy when commerce happens over here on the WS, I mean, we require businesses to sustain our community. Hope we can keep it peaceful y'all. Blaring car horns do not count as music.
Please don't forget to move your car when alternate parking takes effect? You'll be singing some foul music lacking a bass line but heavy on the percussion! Quality of life issues, so sayeth the City. We know it sounds strange that a cyclist could be hit by a car or a pedestrian hit by a bike, and no one ever shows to take a truthful report, but you can and may be ticketed for even 5 minutes over the designated time. We residents don't enjoy this either. But like, in winter, the trucks do need to plow.
Do you want to hear the prettiest music on the West Side? Hear the songbirds singing in the woods at the Hoyt Lake part of Delaware Park, during summer or migration (March - April in spring, and late summer). :-)Movies

First, a few words to Buffalo based businesses, restaurants, musicians, artists, media, and others, especially those located on the West Side, along the Elmwood corridor, or nearby, please advertise yourself here! You may post links to your home pages. Just please keep it clean and spam free. We cool? Awesome. ✍We're just proud residents of Buffalo, NY's West Side, whose borders are widely disputed, and since we are welcoming, we say they can be as broad as they want to be... Elmwood corridor to the Mighty Niagara? North and South boundaries not as clear cut. Anyone is welcomed to comment with their opinions on this.
We're here and here to stay for awhile. We are lucky enough to live in owner occupied property, and to have grown up walking these fair and sometimes trashed streets. Been all over the country, and the City, but it's West Side for us, YO!
Who I'd like to meet:
Anybody from the West Side of Buffalo, past and present. Visitors, wanna be's, folks who had to move to the burbs "for the children," and ex-pats, are always welcome welcome. Just please watch out for pedestrians and cyclists, and don't fight over parking spaces. Don't leave your purse in your car, keep an eye out, don't be DUMB, and seriously, enjoy.
